Miami Paper & Printing Museum

Ive been really challenging myself to find new places to learn how to make different types of art. Grateful that places such @sharedprintfac exist and allow artists of all levels to come and learn new techniques and mediums. This month I went to the printing press jam and the cyanotype jam, and they host monthly jams on a variety of subjects, so I would definitely recommend checking out their site to see if any catch your eye. I printed a new zine @sharedprintfac @bakehouseartcomplex on the riso for the @miamizinefair ! “Acts of Making” examines the labor of art making, breaking it down into specific movements page by page. Only 2 days between you and the smell of ink and gentle thumping and whirring of presses! Thanks to a grant from @miamidadearts and @fundarte.us we were able to bring the Riso Whisperer Robert Baxter to Miami to help get our GR3770, Dulce, ready for Miami’s Riso printing needs! If you don’t know what Riso printing is, check out some of the greats like @risolve @zachclarkis @taxonomypress and @secret_riso_club to get a feel for what’s possible!
