This cafe party was pure JOY 🤸 We had so much fun with all the details (how cute is my logo, drawn by my sweet man @corbinccox !) and inviting our friends into our home. Technically, it was for my birthday but really it just felt like an excuse to hang out and have the best coffee and food. It really was the most fun day (after running around for weeks planning like a crazy person 😅) and we’re like… should we do it again?? At any rate, I’m a big believer in creating joy whenever and however you can — it’s good for us. If you do decide to host, totally recommend a good espresso machine — we had THREE but the winner was the @haden_usa machine. Our friend and barista Alex (big thanks to @alex_flipflop — he was the best) said it actually pulled a better shot than the others we had on hand! I’ve been using every morning since the party and love. IT’S HERE! Our LIVE performance video of “Stardust” is now out! Link in BIO for full video!!! Directed by @brianleeboehner . After delaying the release, we’re so happy to finally share this with you. My original plan with this video was to do a simple performance somewhere outside in nature. Very stripped down. Which I may do eventually :) But @brianleeboehner and our amazing cinematographer @erickturquoise saw more for this video. They designed a stunning idea with lamps moving to the music- most of these are from our living room or thrifted or borrowed from friends (thanks @chelseamak_ 💡). This beautiful idea then needed a team to execute with amazing creative friends like @jlalalaw to style like a bossss @elainakarras_ to paint our faces, @danezionmills52 to bring the joy vibes and an art piece is created. This video was shot in ONE TAKE so we had to have everything on point from lighting to camera work to performance and beyond. I love the perfect imperfection of a one take. I am so thankful to every person who was a part of this amazing day of shooting, where we juggled our sweet baby around between family and extra helpers to be able to step away for a day and create ❤️ It was even more special to kiss and hug our sweet son after a long day of fulfillment and creation. Special thanks to @heidilureign for being producer extraordinaire AND vocalist, spinning those plates like no one else and @silas_short for being such a fab musical director and assembling a fantastic band who only had ONE rehearsal to pull this off before shoot day! Shout out to mama @shardsofdecency for doing BTS while 4 months postpartum you legend! Truly every person who was a part of this day made it so fun and special. This piece is a collaboration and I hope you like what we made! I will share some BTS footage in the coming weeks.
