PORTRAITS x PORTUGAL
Candidly, I placed very high expectations on myself (as I typically do) when it came to capturing Europeās sunniest city. And guess what happened? It stormed on off for 8 straight days. Any time the sun peaked Iād frantically switch out the umbrella for a camera and it kind of took me out of it.
I wasnāt totally thrilled at what I captured. But when I got back I realized itās not that bad. Just different than the original plan. And to be honest, I like it this way.
The lessons Iāve now learned too many times: let it go. Hands off the wheel. Look up.

Had the pleasure of partnering with @parkercampers on our New Zealand road trip last October. I havenāt made something purely for myself in a while, so this felt like a good excuse to get back to my travel film roots. No planning ahead, just pure instinct shooting and hoping theyād figure it out in post (hi, itās me. I am post).
One visit to NZ is enough to realize nowhere else on the planet packs this level of natural diversity into one place. For landscape lovers like me, thereās no better way to experience it.
Every time I travel in one of these vans, it stops feeling like a vehicle and starts feeling like a companion. Another presence on the journey. That idea shaped this micro-film.
Without further ado, hereās roughly 9 percent of nine days of footage. Iāll get to the rest eventually. Feels like a someday-next-year project.
When the storytelling is as good as the scenery.
We partnered with the talented videographer @corbinccox and his partner @coreystaley_ for their recent South Island road trip.
Corbinās short film offers a quiet look at the road, the views, and the moments in between. Not sure about you, but it makes us want to head south right now.

Summiting the tallest peak in the continental U.S. was no walk in the parkā unless your park is full of steep cliffs and 1700 foot ice walls. Still, one of the most epic (and exhausting) adventures Iāve ever had.
Big thanks to @mikefullerjr for bringing me along!

Hereās a collection of reference shots from a scout trip in the eastern Sierras. The project was shelved, but looking back Iām grateful for the adventure and some uninterrupted time to practice the #artofnoticing (with my camera).
Excited to announce I recently signed with Tesla as a full-time cinematographer. Less-than enthused to announce that after 2 months and before shooting for our first full production, our freshly forged creative team of 15 was part of a mass layoff.
I canāt lie, Iām pretty disappointed at the fact we were killed in our crib never getting a chance to illustrate why we were brought on. On the other hand I had the privilege of becoming friends with brilliant, creative powerhouses, and learned that a visionary company like Tesla saw what I see in myself. Zooming out, I feel humbled and grateful for the experience.
For now, I plan on taking some time away and recalibrating what I want from my work, moving toward where I feel called creatively. If you know of anyone looking for anything on the spectrum of production work, I know of 15 individuals who are best-in-class and wildly available.

As for the post: I hadnāt planned on releasing this but seeing as I have nothing concrete to showcase, thought Iād share my āauditionā for the role. Part of the interview process was being handed a speculative creative brief and having 96 hours to concept, shoot, and deliver a 30 second spec piece with whatever tools you had. This was the pace things moved at Tesla and I was invigorated by an opportunity to push my limits.
Special thanks to my leading man/ stunt driver David, executive BFFās Jesse & Marcus, and lightsaber tech Brandon. You guys braved wind, rain, and car rigs built out of gaff tapeāwhatās not to love?
Most importantly a final heartfelt thank you to @coreystaley_ for finding this job opportunity and supporting me from starting gun to finish line.
