Rugs are hard! And expensive and awful to return. Hopefully this helps because I cannot let anyone make the rug mistakes I’ve made in the past 😩

Tfw you realize you aren’t sad or anxious— you just needed a hobby. 💃🏻
When I tell you hobbies are self-care / a part of wellness, y’all. You need something to stimulate your brain and build dopamine that is NOT scrolling and attached to your phone.
Having a hobby has made me so much more excited about life, proud of myself for learning something new (I’m still pre-beginner in salsa and tennis but that’s not the point 😂), and gives me something to look forward to that’s not attached to work or social media.
If you’re in LA, LA community college has a TON of adorable classes and could be a great start. For salsa, @daisymcmillen + @paulbarris classes’ are 🤌🏽🤌🏽 (even if I am humbled 100% of the time 😂)
PS - yall what’s on your hobby list? I still have horseback riding and want to get back to Spanish lessons. 🤸
The first time I heard this TED talk by @carolinemyss , I cried. I cried for the things I wasn’t grateful for in the past, the things I felt were slipping through my fingers, like time with my Dad, and because I’m so grateful for everything and everyone that is my life. And looking through this lens of gratitude and sharp awareness changes everything.
I hope you’ll find it as helpful as I do. 🤍 Link in bio to watch
It’s amazing what crying into pencil led at 11pm can do for one’s confidence!!! But no seriously - anything hard/challenging/new I’ve ever done has only made me more confident and more proud of myself. Interior design school has been no different.
We are so much more capable than we give ourselves credit for. 🫡
We love a little unexpected moment in a room à la @allisonbornstein6 ’s wrong shoe theory. A little tension goes a long way in making your space feel like it has personality!

If you’re starved for beauty, México City is the one! I could wax poetic on how much inspiration, good food, beautiful design, etc there is but just go ahead and book a flight 🫡
From the *digital* saved folder. I always want to share other Inspo as I’ve been trying to go beyond digital archives for inspiration, but it’s tricky - it’s all in my everything journal scribbled, cut out, etc. For now, there’s this!

Loved @_bybaldwin ’s take on this (she has so many good takes!) and I really think this advice makes sense for your home too. Not everything on Pinterest or that home design account you love is for your home - it may not translate. Think about your home’s architecture and details first, in the same way you would consider your body’s proportions or your undertones when choosing a new piece for your closet!
My favorite thing about fashion + design is that they’re two sides of the same coin. Also I listened to the Oscar helicopters yesterday for hours so to stop myself from having an overstimulated meltdown I made this.

Maybe I’m wrong but it feels like people are gravitating toward more collected homes vs curated? I also totally forgot @apartamentomagazine when filming this!
