Honoring motherhood with this Mother’s Day spot for @hipcamp
Lensing - I often favor modern lenses for commercial shoots that are primarily exteriors. With limited time, a small crew, and run n gun workflows, using vintage lenses can sometimes create a slower workflow b/c of their strong characteristics (like ghosty flares) and non consistent builds. There’s always a trade off whether I should embrace this for a project or favor speedy workflows with modern lenses, ultimately opening up more brain space for finding interesting angles and being creative.
I tend to flip flop since there are some really beautiful vintage lenses that I love, however modern lenses gave me the best trade off for this project with basically no crew and time.
Shot with @arri ultra primes with a glimmer glass to spice up these very clean lenses.

Shot on @venuslaowa Proteus 2x and cropped for 16x9. Always fun balancing a bright look and retaining a healthy level of contrast.
Color wise we wanted to pop our reds and blue/greens, while having a slightly warm white point.
