An afternoon of slow stitching and soft conversation in the library at The Poly, Falmouth ✨ The ladies brought along pieces they’ve been working on over the past couple of months, and it was such a joy to see their progress — how each of them has taken the techniques and truly made them their own. That’s my favourite part of it all, sharing a love of stitch and watching it grow in different, beautiful directions. We spent the afternoon quietly chatting, stitching away on this month’s project, and, of course, enjoying some very good coffee from the Poly café ☕️ These sessions are open to everyone — whether you’re completely new to stitching or have been sewing for years, you’re so welcome to join us. Her first passion is embroidery and collage, using reclaimed textiles for depth and sustainability. She also shares her love of natural dyeing, collage, mixed media and seasonal journals. Alongside her embroidered artworks, you’ll find originals, prints, cards, and wearable textile art waiting to be discovered. Fiona holds workshops, sewing groups, and inspirational creative days out. Her aim is to inspire and nurture creativity in others and share the joy she finds in making. We’re so excited to welcome Fi Pullen to the Wellness Festival ✨ Fiona will be bringing something truly special to the day with her Slow Stitch Workshop (2.15–3pm) — a gentle, creative space to pause, breathe and reconnect. Take a little time for yourself and create a small, meaningful textile piece in this mindful slow stitch workshop. Choose from Fiona’s collection of fabrics, layering colours and textures before gently stitching them together by hand. You’ll also have the opportunity to select a pre-printed word or affirmation that resonates with you — a quiet reminder to carry with you each day. Your finished piece will become a small personal talisman — something you can wear as a brooch or necklace, or keep close as a keyring or bag charm. A tiny handmade reminder of intention, creativity, and the value of taking mindful moments for yourself. No sewing experience is needed. Simply come along and enjoy the calming, creative process. We’re also incredibly grateful to Fiona for kindly donating a beautiful raffle prize: Mounted Print “Through the Trees, Grebe Awaits” — originally painted and hand embroidered. (Picture 5 above) All raffle proceeds will go to Friends of Constantine Surgery, supporting vital local healthcare 💛 Fiona is a textile artist who lives closely in tune with the seasons and the quiet rhythms of nature. Her workshops are warm, authentic and welcoming spaces where creativity flows gently. She loves to inspire others to create meaningful pieces that carry a little intention and magic within them. I’m delighted that I have a piece in the spring open exhibition @polyfalmouth Opens Tuesday-Saturday 10-4pm I will be invigilating on Tuesday afternoon.

Fantastic day out @cowslipworkshops The @curtainstocouture exhibition put on by @justjillrosalind is such a joy and inspirational, I could have spent much longer looking as each piece tells a story, and so nice to have corresponding information from each artist about their work. The school blazers were quite thought provoking also too The Magnolia Pearl -“it’s only a label” “is it an illusion? Comparison to the Foolish The Emperors clothes by Linda Bassett. I couldn’t spend too long, as it was off to the Tavistock vintage textiles fair and then a gorgeous walk on Dartmoor, and I very excited Winnie dog (last clip) Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, I feel like I’m eventually emerging from home, all the work and storm damage beginning to clear!
