On “Issue 1422”, Vivian and I spoke about naming, visibility, fashion goals, and the complexities of being seen in a world that constantly seeks to define. In choosing her own name, she claims authorship over identity itself, not as something assigned, but as something lived.
“There’s obviously a lot to lose, but so much more to be gained,” she says.
Growing up under the constant gaze of the internet, her words have been misread, reframed, and taken out of context, yet they have also reached those who needed them most. In a world that demands clarity, she allows for contradiction; in a culture that seeks definition, she insists on presence.
Between visibility and privacy, expression and perception, Vivian continues to move on her own terms, unapologetically🏳️⚧️
