My wife had lost her job this past year, Hollywood’s depressed from being on lifeline and so I went searching for answers in Europe. Without having met up with my old friends @sylviasuli and @seluj_ I would’ve thought that Paris was reluctant to being the new creative epicenter of the world. Come to realize, just like in the states, not all persons are against or condescending in one shape or another. Thanks to real ones this past year that inspired hospitality and deep inspiration through welcome. Change and adapting is painful but at least I’m not getting crucified.
Back then, there were only a handful of asian faces to be found on TV or pop culture. Experiencing racism as one of the only Korean Americans in a small town as a child, to having the opportunity to shoot a pioneer and hero, @iamsandraohinsta for @nytimes was profoundly healing. I don’t take this opportunity lightly and hope to participate in breaking down any form of hatred and spread the wider range of Love.
