I have a lot to say about our city shelters, especially South Central, which is arguably the worst shelter in the city. Also, I want to point out. It’s not just city shelters. We have county shelters also which are high kill, but I’m taking my time because I want to be thoughtful
What I can and will say now is that if we do not entirely fund our spay and neuter voucher programs we are literally opening the door to a flood of more unwanted animals. That’s not rocket science I myself have had an issue getting spay and neuter vouchers for community cats. It’s a problem.
When we toured North Central, I learned a lot about new programs that are reducing negative outcomes.
Also when I’m elected, I will be the first and only council member to have spent decades in animal rescue specifically cats. The fate of our animal neighbors, our animal friends, our animal companions will always be a high priority for me.
PS I have three cats right now- one with dementia - so I’m not in a position to bring home another cat but please someone go rescue these. They are just perfect!

The Trump Propaganda Machine
I am both astonished and deeply disturbed by those who fail to recognize that they are victims of one of the most insidious and powerful brainwashing campaigns since the Nazi propaganda machine of World War II.
The vast propaganda apparatus of the Trump administration is, in many ways, even more formidable and sophisticated than that of the Nazis. The science underpinning the psychological warfare used to manipulate public perception is unparalleled in history. With the pervasive influence of social media, computers, smartphones, and tablets, public opinion is now shaped and directed with unprecedented precision through relentless, scientifically engineered propaganda. A significant segment of our nation has fallen prey to this right-wing indoctrination. Individuals unwittingly adopt the language of the right and propagate it—spreading it like a virus to friends and family until it permeates our society like a malignant growth. This process obscures basic truths and undermines logical reasoning. President Trump famously declared, "I love the poorly educated," fully aware that those less informed are more susceptible to his web of deception. How can anyone resist such an ever-evolving, technologically advanced propaganda machine? It is an extraordinary challenge, which is why so many succumb to its lies. My only hope is that you remain vigilant and discerning. Question everything you are told. Question me. Question everyone. Instead, examine the actions and outcomes for yourself. Observe what is being done, assess the tangible results, and always remember the fundamental distinctions between right and wrong. Employ your logic and compassion to evaluate what you hear—and, above all, trust your own eyes.
