After our EU excursion in April we are doing a little Midwest weekender in May. We had such a blast last Fall in these cities surrounded by lovely people. Can’t wait to get back.
Less than a month away! Beyond excited to do our first EU tour in partnership with Swamp Booking. Please let me know if you’re around any of these cities. I’d love to see you.
Happy one week anniversary to Trouble Remixed. We’re so stoked that people have been digging this collection of revisions. Extra special thanks to all our friend and collaborators. This was also my first real in-house mastering job and I’m stoked in how it came out. A bit of a challenge working with lots of different sources.

There’s lots of exciting news and updates we’re currently sitting on but we hope to have that out in the world soon. Xx
Recently I had to replace the piezo/contact mics in my vintage Roland drum pads and that meant I had to buy some piezos in bulk. Yesterday I had the idea to turn some literal trash and other stuff laying around the apartment into some electro acoustic texture/noise boxes.
One is built into an old cigar box with rubber bands, screws and some old bass strings.
The other is a disused Trader Joe’s Peppermint Bark tin with push pins, staples and a few coins just moving around inside. Xx
Having lots of fun over the holiday shooting native B&W on my DSLR paired with some vintage lenses. This one is a 1970’s Asahi Pentax Takumar 50mm f1.4. Wide open it’s kind of amazing and vibey. No post work on these, straight from the camera / lens combo. Reminds me a bit of my long lost M6.
Back from the Midwest which was amazing. Incredible shows and amazing people.
In case you missed it during our flurry of activity during the lead up to Cold Waves Festival, we released a remix of A Shot In The Dark by @housesofheaven . They are by far, one of my favorite bands around. We were so stoked when they agreed to take this on and they really knocked it out of the park, ready for dance floors around the world. Additional mixing finesse by @inhalt.us on this mix and remixed music video visualizer by me. Available on our Bandcamp now!
Thanks to everyone who has watched our video for The Girl With The Terminal Stare!
We shot this last Wednesday and cut it by Friday, however the ideation period for this video lasted much longer, essentially since we finished the LP last Fall. Lots of firsts with this production: having an actual crew and talent for one!
A few personal thanks:
To Neil Schwartz for his boundless energy and good vibe and for completely nailing the choreography, while making the talent feel hyped up during the shoot.
To Jim Batt for being my extra set of eyes on this shoot and helping make this look amazing and picking up the slack when I was flailing around in the dark (literally).
To Scott Miller for the use of his amazing space. There’s no way we could have made this without that access.
To Hernan Sanchez for the amazing graphics and titles cards.
Thanks to everyone! We couldn’t have done this without you.

Trouble TV Episode 2 is now on YouTube. Hotels, highways and nightclubs, where montage becomes memory. Documenting the period since the release of the Trouble LP, this episode features a more personal and performative side, rather than the impressionistic first episode. Our first proper touring to places we’ve never played, meeting amazing people and finding moments of total beauty out there on the road.
JUNE RECAP!
Went on tour, played some shows, met some lovely people. We had an amazing time running down the east coast and Appalachian foothills with our buds @holywiremusic . It was also really great to spend some time with @josh_damn in Roanoke and @thatwhichisnotsaid_twins in Atlanta. Drove 2300 miles in about 9 days and time has a strange way of expanding and contracting when doing this kind of work and travel.
Now back and rested with two remixes done. Looking forward to plotting over the rest of the Summer.
