It breaks my heart to write this, but our beautiful family homestead at Ruffy was destroyed in the recent bushfires.
Fortunately, everyone is safe and unharmed. Tom and Bex evacuated with the kids, while John and Sharron stayed to try and protect the house. Despite their heroic efforts, the fire overwhelmed them and the house was burned to ground, along with most of the other structures on the property. We lost many of the big trees, but luckily large areas of the garden were saved, along with Tom and Bex’s tiny house.
We’re all shattered, but the family are rallying, focused on salvaging what is left and restoring essential services. The remaining garden is a sanctuary to the surviving wildlife, and already green shoots have begun to appear in the ashes.
These fires have been unprecedented in their ferocity, leaving everyone shocked at the devastation they’ve left across the entire region. Most of the township is gone, and the surrounding region is burned out beyond recognition.
Hey Melbourne friends, sorry that was such a lightning visit and I missed seeing most of you! Turns out a week is a pretty short amount of time… look forward to being back over the summer, circumstances allowing.
Our PAX Aus booth also marked the first time we’ve had the current Spies & Soldiers dev team together in one place! So good to be able to get a meal together after working remotely for so long.
Had a great time showing our game Spies & Soldiers at PAX Australia! Such a wonderful response, our booth was packed across all three days. Thanks to everyone who swung by to say hello and check out the game!
How lovely! The Grave Of St Oran will be part of the wonderful Woodstock Film Festival next weekend, screening in the animated shorts section (Sep 30th & Oct 2nd). Looking forward to it!
A music video I directed for the wonderful @clarestclare will be screening at Deep Focus Film Festival in Brooklyn this weekend! We shot this a while ago, and it has since toured festivals around the world, even managing to collect a few awards on it's travels.
Screens at 6:30pm Sunday.

Enjoyed our screening of Grave Of St Oran at Brooklyn Film Festival last night! So nice to be able to attend a festival in person again. We were in some very good company, with so many amazing animations in the program!
