Revisiting INTO THE MYSTIC 2024 🌼🌳🌼🌳🧚🏼🌸
Noticing my foraged plant and biocouture textures are similar to the ‘synthetic’ colours and textures that are created on the haute couture Paris runway this season.
The hawthorn, chamomile, rosemary, oak bark healing puffer will be on exhibition at @kewgardens from september 20 if you wanted to see it in person 🥹🪷🌸🌼🌳🩷 along with another look I am working on and the launch of mine and @jess_dadds Nirvana Biota 16mm film 🌙
For this puffer I have foraged an assortment of different plants, barks and flowers locally, making them into inks, pigments and natural dyes.
I then reuse the waste plant matter and water from the natural dye baths and turn them into self-made biomaterial and plant leather.
The plant leather is infused with specific healing powers from plants and barks, such as chamomile, hawthorn and valerian. Filled with dried grass and valerian, to help with physical and mental well-being as well as anxiety and depression.
Underneath are my hemp fur shorts and hoodie botanically dyed with hawthorn and pressed with wildflowers.
