Houston! We visited @projectrowhouses in the 3rd ward of Houston and were blown away! . Founded in 1993 by seven African-American artists, the nonprofit transformed abandoned "shotgun" houses into a vibrant space for contemporary art installations, artist residencies, transitional housing for young mothers, and neighborhood development. . #houston #communutydevelopment #housing #artistresidency

What a great start to our research trip to Texas. Today we met up with @betterblock and had a great tour of their building and then chipped in and helped paint up some CNC cut plywood that's gunna be used on a street activation in Dallas for the World Cup. . The team are so lovely 😍 and @betterblock do so much amazing work activating spaces and helping communities improve their street in a temporary way that leads to lasting change. . This research trip has been funded by @aceagrams And is part of our research into developing @sawdust.workshop into a creative placemaking and a resource for creatives and communities in teesside. . #betterblock #placemaking #artscouncilengland #dallas #betterstreets
