Meet our final graduate spotlight from Prince Albert campus - DeAnna Bendig from the Practical Nursing program!    What’s something you’re proud of?  "Now that I’m almost finished my program, I am most proud of saying yes to opportunities. I made a conscious effort to get the most out of my time at Sask Polytech by attending events, volunteering, and building connections with people. I truly feel like I took full advantage of my time at Sask Polytech. I am also incredibly proud of myself for balancing school while being a mom to a four- and six-year-old. Managing both home and school life hasn’t always been easy, but it has been rewarding. Being able to show my girls the value of hard work, dedication, and pursuing personal goals means a great deal to me, and I hope I’ve been a strong role model for them."    What’s next after graduation?  “My next step is to graduate and begin my career as a nurse here in Prince Albert. My primary focus will be on building confidence and clinical competence as a new nurse, ensuring I can provide safe, compassionate, and effective care. Once I have gained valuable experience, I hope to work in northern communities where healthcare support is greatly needed. In the future, I am also interested in continuing my education and potentially pursuing Registered Nursing.”    DeAnna, you inspire us all! Congratulations!

Carpentry instructor Michael Stang is good at building things. That includes relationships and opportunities—like the one he’s currently nurturing between his program and Crystal Bueckert, an alumna of the Architectural Technologies program. Michael recently took his Carpentry applied certificate students to work on a community-based initiative led by Crystal. Her company, Prolog Developments, was selected by the City of Saskatoon to redevelop the old city bus barns in the Caswell Hill neighbourhood—a repurposing project that will breathe new life into industrial infrastructure previously slated for demolition. Michael’s students are applying their carpentry skills framing interior walls for artist studios as part of the Caswell Bus Barns project.

Graduate Spotlight - Saskatoon Campus Meet one of our outstanding graduates from the Food and Nutrition Management program: What’s something you’re proud of? “I’m most proud that I took a leap of faith to pursue further education—and that I stuck with it, even when things felt tough or the material didn’t always feel relevant. My time at Sask Polytech has taught me so much, and I’m excited to carry those lessons forward.” What’s next after graduation? “After finishing my program, I plan to return to my home community and continue building my small food business. In the future, I hope to open a Food Bank/Community Centre, inspired by my practicum experience at the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre.” Marz, your journey is just getting started - we can't wait to see the positive impact you will make!

Saskatchewan Polytechnic has received $2 million from the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Students’ Association (SPSA) toward the new Joseph A. Remai Saskatoon Campus, marking one of the largest student-led infrastructure contributions in the institution’s history. The infrastructure contribution supports the Time to Rise campaign and will help fund the design and construction of student-centred spaces that will help create a thriving campus community. It also contributes to the design and build of SPSA spaces within the new campus, reinforcing the association’s role in student engagement and leadership development. These spaces encourage student involvement, support student-led initiatives, and cultivate the confidence necessary to become leaders in industry and community. @ur_spsa @saskpolytechalumni
