BIG ANNOUNCEMENT—- our surprise guest headliner is the iconic duo @las_sucias duo of @sandemon__ and @dnishhh who are blessing our festival with a special headlining performance. Sandy is flying all the way from NY for the festival and we couldn’t be happier and more excited to welcome them and share this news with you.
Outsider Sounds and Visions Fest is a two day music festival in West Oakland March 27 and 28, 2026 celebrating the twenty year anniversary of @ratskinrecords happening at First Church Of The Buzzard in West Oakland as well as streaming online featuring over thirty five bands / performances. Presale ticket link in our bio.
We are beyond enthralled to bring on legendary duo @las_sucias , their music has meant so much to us over the years and this performance will not disappoint.
Raw, unfiltered, and impossible to pin down, Las Sucias carve out a sound that lives somewhere between noise, ritual, and rupture. Their performances aren’t just sets, they’re confrontations, transformations, and a reminder of why we build spaces like this in the first place.
Las Sucias is a duo formed by Danishta Rivero and Alexandra Buschman, mixing anti-patriarchal riotgrrrl lyrics, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, brujería noise and possessed vocals. Each performance is a ritual that combines all of the senses and elevates into a higher realm, inspiring the listener to dance, speak in tongues, laugh hysterically, and get possessed by the spirits awoken.
To mark the occasion of Fall of Freedom (/), join me and The Chocolate Factory Theater for an evening of food, drink, and performance.
This informal pot-luck gathering will serve as a prelude to a series of upcoming Saturday Salons curated by me and artist Amy O’Neill, and an opportunity for artists and community to share time, space, and sustenance.
Participating artists: Alexandra Buschman-Román, Sibyl Kempson, Paul Lazar, Annie-B Parson, Brian Rogers, Tina Satter, David Thomson.
Speaking of #improvisedmusic and good musical memories on the point of connection. Last year was some great touring as both @illusionofsafety1983 and for my solo project Twilight Furniture as well as improv with new friends. Thank you Matt for the 7/21 presentation @westoaklandsoundseries . And the op to do this special quartet pictured left to right @daniel_james_burke@issimo_sempre@kanoko.nishi & @sandemon__ (our set up’s also appear left to right next images). Excellent live Sound and recording thanks to @jakobheule (perhaps one day this performance will make it to a release) . Also met the drummer extraordinaire @scottamendola with his very cool Sticklerphonics ensemble. really good times and magic moments. .

Bruce Ackley & Fred Lonberg-Holm
The Anti-cellist, Lonberg-Holm, arrives at the gates of the Peacock Lounge on Sept. 11. Pupils ablaze with unholy mastery of harmonics, timbre and scale, he melts the mere tissue of musical convention tempting you with realities you've always dreamed. A disciple of both Feldman and Braxton, he counts among his many collaborators Peter Brötzmann, Zeek Sheck and this very night he adds our own neighborhood druid, Bruce Ackley, known to weilds the sonic sceptres both soprano and tenor. A founding member of Rova Saxophone Quartet, Ackley is a woodwind autodidact and virtuoso who stirrs it up with the likes of John Zorn, Eugene Chadbourne, and Ikue Mori. Suffice to say, if this is indeed the eschaton, you'll want immanentize a front row seat.

JETZTAHORA
The present arrives slowly but then all at once and while goodness may be flushed, pure evil also passes. From that blind-beyond a fantasy supertrio appears: Danishta Rivero (Caribay/Voicehandler/Las Sucias), Sandy Buschman-Román (Demon Sleeper/Las Sucias), and Kyle freaking Bruckmann (Splinter Reeds/EKG). Postsecular singing rises amidst postindustrial electronics, seraphim choke out cherubim tumbling from their plaster clouds as the toppling edifice decapitates kings to reveal a new depth of darkness where numberless suns blaze dimly in the distance, new light from ancient power arrives presently, slowly then all at once.

Theresa Wong
Does multiplication happen in space or in time...as a function of mathematics or of archeology? Can multiplicities be predicted or are they only perceived? All of the above, and nowhere do past and future comingle more clearly than in Theresa Wong's musical embrace. By voice, cello, light and in composition, Wong's muscial practice unfolds new possibilities of form, improvisation, just-intonation and intermedia performance. In her work, each mode spawns dimensions of interpreted pasts, proposed futures, and a blossoming present. Wong's reach extends to history as in "The Unlearning: Songs inspired by Goya's
