Big thanks to @unclimatechange for leading a roundtable at COP28 on Entertainment and Culture for Climate Action (ECCA), creating spaces for cultural leaders and the entertainment industry to come together. In these settings, it's crucial to push for concrete action and convey the urgency to accelerate climate efforts.
Speaking truth to power can be tough, but it's essential. So many industry leaders have spent three years developing a framework for our industry, yet it hasn't been ratified despite 80% support from ECCA members. Check out the latest draft at www.ecca.earth.
As a social impact practitioner and climate activist, it's frustrating when counterparts drag their feet. Strengthening global collaborations is key to building a united front against extraction and corporate greed in our industry.
Kudos to frontline community leaders who prioritize integrity over PR. Our future can't hinge on corporate interests. Let's set a timeline and get to work ā no time to waste!
At COP, let's use the remaining conference time to act, not delay. We're here to turn initiatives like ECCA into a robust framework for impact, transparency, and accountability.
We have a unique opportunity and a historic responsibility to collaborate and give our best. We may differ in views and approaches, but we share one planet and a common goal: protect it at all costs.
šø Huge thanks to @midianinja and @oliverninja for capturing these moments of resistance š
At #ChangeNOW, we were asked a tough question: Why use UNFCCC processes to advance climate action in the culture sector? š¤

Been sitting with this for a moment before posting because thereās been so much to process and unpackā¦
Last month in Marrakech, alongside 50+ incredible people from across the world, we delivered the first draft of the Culture Global Stocktake for Climate Action (CGST) š
For a week, we gathered cultural practitioners, artists, climate advocates, local organizers, and leading organizations to collectively build a roadmap for culture-based climate action.
We reclaimed our role in policymaking and learned from each otherās perspectives and inputs. It was an intense process, but one Iām deeply grateful for. Iāve learned so much, and Iām honestly in awe of what this movement can accomplish āØ
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support and hard work of the @entertainmentculturepavilion team. Weāre also so thankful to the organizations who financially enabled this Acceleratorāwe donāt take that generosity for granted. Thank you to the Youth Climate Justice Fund, British Council, and Goethe Institute for helping make this possible.
This process has only just begun, and Iām really excited to invite others to take part in the next draft iterations of the Culture Global Stocktake. Our goal is to deliver a finalized version by COP31, with ongoing in-person and virtual consultations along the way.

Over 670 people have already registered for the Culture Global Stocktake orientation webinar.
Why?
Because this is the first time culture is being formally assessed inside the climate system - and if you care about narrative power, art, storytelling, behaviour change, or cultural policy, this affects you.
š February 23 š 5PM CET
In this session, weāll explain: ā What the Culture Global Stocktake actually is ā How the process works ā How your work can feed into UN climate policy ā And how to get involved in consultations

This interactive workshop at @cop30nobrasil explored how climate change is reshaping our health and wellbeing - and how storytelling can help us respond, adapt, and heal. Participants reflected on their lived experiences, then created short videos and narratives for the @healthyplanetnowfilm impact campaign. As @xiyebeara reminded us, āthe health of the planet is intrinsically linked to the health of our communities, our descendants, our stories.ā
Supported by @wellcometrust through āA Culture of Climate and Healthā, six programmes throughout COP30 dedicated to exploring the intersection between climate, health, and cultural advocacy. #HealthyPlanetNow
