Works: Relationships Are Unfinished Business (2016), We All Need Good Riddance Sometimes (2026) and Just Because (Protect My Heart) (2026)
Ryan Falzon’s works consider relationships as unfinished states, where affection, anger and attachment continue to circulate beyond closure. Through symbolism, the paintings explore how past and present bonds leave lasting imprints on identity, shifting between intimacy and burden and suggesting gestures of self-protection alongside the possibility of stepping beyond this suspended condition.
Ryan Falzon is a Maltese writer and visual artist whose work draws on the intense colours of the Mediterranean. Through collage-like visual and literary strategies, his practice explores political, social and symbolic themes. He has exhibited across Malta and Europe since 2009 and is also an award-winning writer, receiving the Best Emerging Author award in 2024.
@axis_artgallery is open from Monday to Friday (10:00–19:00hrs), Saturday (10:00–13:00, 16:00–19:00hrs) and Sunday (10:00–13:00hrs).
