@dan_bertocchini i and @prsuit_series nailed there first match of the new series! The MDT Hunter challenge near Williams Cali is always a great match but Dan stepped it up to the next level with a great diversity of stages challenging even the most seasoned shooters. This increased level of freedom for MDs to change up stage design is what I have been missing in the other series. With the new format of handycaps @sstac2016 and I decided to shoot teams and run 6.5 PRCs with carbon Proof barrels sitting in DRT chassis. This combo kept us at about 13 lb and enough power factor for a couple extra points. For our first match shooting as a team it went great and were able to place 4th in teams. Big thanks to @eagleeyeammo for making ammo that hammers using @petersoncartridge brass and @bergerbullets . Ken at @accuracydevelopmentsolutions once again build a laser beam using @proofresearch carbon barrel and @lone_peak_arms Ti Fusion action. I can't wait for @mdttac21 to release the new DRT you guys are going to love it!
Pearls 2025 Cali Big Horn mount came out awesome! With help from her mother @melissasohm.art and her black smith forge we built a special bracket for it. Already looking forward to the 2026 season! Thanks again to @bcextremeoutdoorsman for being a big part of this hunt!
My Daughter Pearl was lucky enough to get an awesome California Bighorn sheep tag here in BC. Technically this is not a once in a life time tag but basically is with crazy odds of getting one tag let a lone a second one. We knew it was going to be a tough hunt but had Alan Homer going with us. This was his 13th sheep hunt he has been on, so we knew we had the odds on our side. We spent Saturday glassing from across the valley and found a group of 12 rams almost immediately. We could actually hear them butting heads from over 1800 yards away be for we saw them in glass. We hiked in 8km Sunday morning and found the rams again bunched up the bottom of the valley. We dropped as much gear as possible at the top of the valley and then went 1800 feet down hoping we would pack out heavy. Once at the bottom we worked our way over to were we had seen the rams and got with in 300 yards. Pearl got set up prone and made a perfect shot. Then the work began! We hiked 5km back up and got into our sleeping bags after 2am and was worth every minute. For Pearls first sheep hunts she did awesome!

The @mdt_rocky_mountain_nrlhunter put on by @threebarsranch and the Beckley Family was another huge success this year! @prs_kid and @tyler.beckley2 are both great shooter and know how to design a COF everyone can love. On top of that the Ranch had amazing views, cabins and food. It is pretty cool when over half the shooters can stay on site and hang out after the shooting is done. @jbotha_ and I teamed up again this year and had a blast, we are definitely getting into our groove as a team. We ended up taking 2nd behind 2 studs @jake_vibbert and @pygmy_guide who burnt it down! Now onto some PRS matches.
@jbotha_ and I were laying out some stages for the up coming May match on the 24th and @mdttac21 Mid Summer Madness in August. This is an awesome property and we think you guys will love it!
@jbotha_ and his team did a great job again this year with the MDT Mid Summer Madness match in Merritt BC. @reisterjacob and I had a great time shooting this match, keeping it tied till the last stage, when I was able to get him by a point for the win. This win was a little extra special as I was running the zero stage electronic trigger from MDT. This thing feels amazing, and I can't wait for more people to try it!
The @mdt_rocky_mountain_nrlhunter at the @threebarsranch hosted by the Beckley Family is 100% one of the most beautiful places I have shot! On top of this, the COF was a ton of fun and hospitality beyond expectation. I had a blast shooting my first team match with @jbotha_ , shooting 19 stages on Friday so we could RO the rest of the weekend. It was definitely a slog but worth every minute with a ton of laughs and good times. To top it off, we ended up in 3rd place behind @jonpynch@alwinearcher in first and @dan_bertocchini@meghantravis in second, making for a @mdttac21 sweep in the team's class.
