@n.toungate laid out a good COF for the match and he REALLY wanted someone to get that clean match. Big thanks to his support “staff” for the awesome lunch. There was 100 competitors at the match. There was a waitlist to get in. A lot of new shooters. And a lot of seasoned ones as well. I checked @impactscoring and it was a tight race in the top 10 until the last two stages. I thought @ripprecision and Brad Larsen were gonna take the clean and share that $$$. but my record stands..😐

I’d be boots on ground back at Fort Hood. OIF 2 deployment complete. Remember it like yesterday. For the next 4 days it was Re-deployment SRP and partying. Scout and Mortar platoon shenanigans.
And on the 5th day back, I would meet someone that would forever change my life, but that is another story for later...😉

I hit my 5yr mark at Kestrel Ballistics last week. This wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for @katiemgodfrey I got pulled into the NK / Kestrel Ballistics family and got straight to work learning a new set of products and its been pedal to the metal ever since. Its been “kestrel Katie” or “Katie from Kestrel..” for a long time. Her impact not only on the Kestrel Ballistics brand, but all the brands under the Nielsen-Kellerman umbrella, has been unmatched.
Even before the acquisition, and even before I was out of the Army; I knew Katie. So while her title will change to wherever she is going, her commitment to those going to do work and competition will not.
I didn’t want her to leave. But I respect that she made a decision that is best for her, and her family.
Katie; good luck on the future. Thank you for everything. Hope to see you on the range more!!!

bunch of new competitors showed up. A lot of shooting sport crossovers (PCSL/3gun/USPSA) showed up. And there weee done first timer shooters as well. BJE herself @thatgirljenn_17 came down. We had laughs and called the wind dumb together. My day was smooth up until my 5th stage. The wind grinch came to Texas. Ended up 24/87.

Trapped by @thewordalive became the song of self reflection. And a song that I attached to some memories and emotions that will never go away.
Back in February, on Valentine’s Day; AppleTV debuted The Gorge. The song used was from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Spitting off the Edge of the World.
while Metal/Rock was the top. Always with 90s and early 2000s nu-metal and Rap.

trekked up to North Texas on saturday to compete in the club match at Fossil Pointe. Linked up with da homie @thatgirljenn_17 She got the 6GT up n “purring.”
The winds were winding and Rhett had a solid COF. Rooftop was a woobly one. The “ahhh” was dropping my last shot on the stage. targets out to 887y, and some decent target/DOF pans made you pay attention to where the tgts were placed. Congrats to @trigger_tickler_ on the win. Took 14th (3way tie for 12-14.) Great day for shooting with all the rain holding off until my drive home. And I mean ALL the rain (3.5hr drive took 4.5hrs) plus holiday traffic.

When the homie, @caliber.row , drives from Phoenix to Dallas, and then to San Antonio; you link up with that homie! Alex made the long Kessel run and did the southbound I-35 trek. Had a fun time up in North Texas at the Nov. club match. Wind decided to play mind games with most of us… except @morgunking congrats on the win and only dropping 1. impressive. He blew the curve outta the water too.
I had an ok day. bled too many points on not picking up wind changes on the fly and a few “rushed” shots. 15th outta 67. Joe Arabie @arrowbee_precision from Louisiana was on a vacation and popped in to shoot the match. His first TX match!
Good shooting with Brandon, Joe, the Drake Duo and helping out a new shooter at his first match.
And @thatgirljenn_17 came to help out #squadmom and got her new 6GT rifle and some kickass @magpul products.
Lastly, an OG made an appearance! The GTC himself; Geordie Richardson aka the Aussie Texan! @geordierich it was great seeing him and getting a GTC rant face to face! 🤣.
