The PRS Rimfire Series is one of the fastest growing communities in the world. PRS Rimfire is shooting rimfire rifles in the .22 LR caliber, making the sport accessible to an even wider audience.
Rimfire matches mirror the Regional Series in terms of structure, with stages, props, but scaled for shorter distances. Rimfire matches are popular among beginners, youth shooters, yet also to seasoned PRS competitors as rimfire matches have their unique set of challenges. Rimfire competitors use shorter target distances, which means match directors have flexibility in choosing venues. Many rages that lack the space for centerfire PRS matches can still accommodate PRS Rimfire events, as these typically only require distance up to 300 yards.
Rimfire matches appeal to a broader range of participants, from new shooters and youth to experienced PRS competitors looking for low-cost practice. This broader appeal means match directors can draw a larger crowd, ensuring higher turnout and increasing revenue from entry fees.

Let’s talk about the PRS Pro Series and Regional Series.
First, the Pro Series. The PRS Pro Series is considered the highest level of competition within the Precision Rifle Series and is a series of two-day PRS centerfire matches. This series attracts some of the best precision shooters in the world. Shooters compete in national Pro Series matches, accumulating points that qualify them for the PRS Pro Series Finale, which determines the season’s top-ranked shooter. Pro Series matches are highly competitive and designed to challenge even the most skilled shooters.
PRS Regional Series. The PRS Regional Series, often referred to as the Centerfire Club Series, is designed as a more accessible entry point into the sport, catering to shooters who are new to precision rifle competitions or those who want to compete locally. The Regional Series includes lower-cost matches, and many regions have their own distinct events that allow shooters to compete without extensive travel. Competitors still earn points in each match, and each region crowns a champion at the end of the season.
