Wanted to share my last stage from the Freestone NRL Hunter Match back in February.
This was a two-target stage, shot right to left from two positions off the feeder. After getting my ranges and DOPE, I started assessing how I wanted to approach it and make the most stable shots possible.
My initial plan was to run my tripod fully extended, but when I went to set up, I realized one of the legs had gotten stuck and wouldn’t extend. For a second, I thought about ditching the tripod altogether, but instead I adapted and worked with it fully collapsed to see if I could still make it work.
In the end, it gave me the stability I needed, and I was able to clean the stage.
This was a great reminder that things don’t always go according to plan, but adapting in the moment and making the best of the situation can still lead to success.
Big thanks to Really Right Stuff for building gear I can rely on and for taking care of me with replacement parts to get me back up and running!
