“On April 7, 2026, exactly 5 years and and 4 days after becoming the first women to ever ski from Chamonix to Zermatt on the famed Haute Route in one push, Valentine Fabre and I set a new record: 22 hours and 35 minutes to traverse 106 kilometers and over 8,100 meters of vertical gain. Then, 3 days later, Marie Pollet-Villard and Laurie Renoton beat us.” -Hillary Gerardi To help celebrate ITRA’s Women’s Trail Day, Hillary wrote about their recent record and loss of it to discuss broader ideas of women taking on bigger challenges in the mountains and supporting fellow female athletes. Whether on ski or on trail, she offers her perspective on what makes records meaningful in a way we can all look at our own goals. Read the blog: Go for it, Ladies: Women in Mountains by @hillary_gerardi + Get all the details to take part in ITRA’s Women’s Trail Day. @itra_trail — Womens Trail Day: On June 1, 2026 ITRA is prompting a global celebration of women hitting the trails together — to connect, enjoy, and champion female participation in trail running. Women around the world will take to the trails — not for time or trophies, but to celebrate what it means to move together. You can also join the @strava event from wherever you run in the world! What happens when you’re running a 200-mile mountain race and chafe…badly? What can you learn from a little miscommunication? And what did Mirna Valerio’s mom message that helped her push through a hard time? Run the Alps recorded three stories from @theultrarunnergirl , @hillary_gerardi , and @themirnavator at our winter staff gathering in Chamonix. Their storytelling had us howling so hard that our cheeks are finally recovering. Now, we’re presenting them for you to enjoy, too. 🔗Hear their Tales from the Trail — link to listen on Run the Alps YouTube channel in our profile. 📷 @searchingforwild

You can sign up for your own challenge, or donate to help us raise money for the most impactful climate charities. In April, we ran our first guided tour of the 2026 season - Run Provence: A Guided Culinary & Trail Running Vacation! We love running in Provence, especially early and late in the trail season. Guide, @siebrigscheeres tells us a bit about the recent trip: “Trail Running in Provence means running through vineyards, olive orchards, and over ridges with majestic views of Mont Ventoux. Our small group of ladies enjoyed 5 days of running, eating delicious food, and soaking in thermal baths.” You can also run our favorite trails of Provence self-guided from April-June and September-October! Experience the south of France by foot, visit ancient hilltop villages, and sample local olives, honey, apricots, truffles, goat cheese, and wine. 📷 @sam_lhermillier

Are you are road runner ready to discover trails? We’ve got some tips to share from @supernovu ! Nhi was one of our 2025 Tour Grant recipients and participated in our September in the Alps trip including racing Trail des Dents du Midi- @7sddmtrail . She says her Run the Alps experience was “life-changing” – trading road running for alpine trails, building confidence, community, and a sense of belonging while promoting Asian American and Pacific Islander representation in trail running. Run the Alps’ Laura Moro, who leads our Net Positive strategy, caught up with Nhi to talk about her journey and lessons from the mountains – including practical advice for road runners ready to hit the trails! Now on our BLOG. 📷: @mountaineeringmike @olajaniak
