Last month, I was honored at the 76th Annual Golden Mike Awards with the Vin Scully Memorial Scholarship from the Radio and Television News Association of Southern California @rtnasocal , in honor of one of the most legendary sports broadcasters of all time. 🎙️🏆 ⚾️ Hands down, one of the most surreal experiences of my broadcasting career so far. I learned that in this field, you must take a chance on yourself, to believe that the work you do will have a positive impact on others. This was proof of all the time, effort, and commitment to my craft as a journalist. As an Asian-American, breaking the barriers and creating a path for myself in sports news has been so eye-opening in the best way possible. I’ve met many talented and passionate people along the way, which I’m grateful for. As we’ve reached the end of Women’s History Month, I reflect on the importance of representation. I hope that this serves as a reminder to all that you deserve a seat at the table, no matter where you come from.
