🚨 BREAKING: Long Beach Pride Festival has been canceled just hours before Teen Pride was set to begin.
According to the City of Long Beach, @lbpride organizers failed to provide the required documentation needed for permits. The decision came at the last minute, leaving many in the LGBTQ+ community shocked, disappointed, and frustrated ahead of one of the city’s biggest celebrations.
Pride organizers say they are devastated by the cancellation and are now hoping the mayor and city council step in to help get the festival back on track for Saturday and Sunday.
The city has since released a full statement explaining its decision.
The pride parade, organized by the city, will continue as planned Sunday at 10am.
