14th Annual Farhang Foundation Fundraising Gala — November 1, 2025 An extraordinary evening celebrating Iranian art, culture, and community. It is with immense joy and pride to be connected to @farhangfoundation . Thank you for all you do for the community-at-large. Side notes: A little accidental high-end TV-drama promo energy with my mom in the last photo. 🙃 Grateful she could join me.❤️🙏🏼 I tried out a new braided updo — it’s always fun to get dressed up! ✨

I’ve decided that this post trip jet lag feels like being a slightly smashed jelly bean or play dough.😂 (For some reason, Bali travel last year didn’t hit as hard!)Kinkaku-ji (金閣寺, lit. ‘Temple of the Golden Pavilion’), and Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion) with my dad. 💛🇯🇵 🙏🏼 Golden Pavilion is a Zen temple in northern Kyoto whose top two floors are completely covered in gold leaf. ✨ #goldenpavilion #kyoto #worldtraveler #zen #architecture #design

Not of this world but part of this world… Three weeks ago my father moved on from this material world, but he is still everywhere and always: in nature, flowers, and in my heart. ❤️ My father had a deep relationship with the land and endless stories to share. One of my favorites was about a rose bush he found abandoned on the side of the road. He brought it home, cared for it, and gave it a second life. That’s my dad. 🌹 His garden is a true oasis, surrounded by abundance, from kale and passion fruit to apples and figs, all cultivated by him, with so many trees throughout. Hummingbirds return each year to lay their eggs. Birds, bees and butterflies fill the space, knowing it’s a sanctuary. It is a living expression of his care and patience. He would send me home with bouquets of flowers. 💐 My father came to the United States from Iran in 1975 to earn his PhD, studying in his second language, English--while also coaching wrestling as a former champion in Iran. He was a professor at Cal Poly Pomona as well as a talented landscape designer. A man of rare intellect and physical strength, whose discipline shaped everything he did. ✨ He remains one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever known—on virtually any subject.📚 Growing up, I remember him as philosophical and deeply introspective. I recall once going through a particularly hard time, and he told me to read Rumi. He often spoke in stories and parables. At the time, I wanted him to get to the point. Now I understand that the storytelling was also the point, and part of our culture. He also had a wonderful, unexpected sense of humor that could surface at any moment through his wit.😊 In the last several years of his life, we became especially close. He became one of my closest friends. We traveled together to Santa Barbara, Ojai, Hawaii, and most recently Japan. Hakone, Takayama, Tokyo, and Kyoto are places that will always hold his presence for me. 🕊️ We spoke nearly every day, and I always knew I was deeply cared for and loved. My parents gave me a sense of confidence that I could do anything, and for that, and much more--I'm forever grateful. 🙏🏼 I could go on and on... Sending love, Roxie

An exhibition run to remember. RECURRENCE unfolded as more than a show, becoming a series of moments shared with our design community. From gallery walkthroughs to evenings at Felix Trattoria, each brought conversation, connection, and meaning. We gathered to celebrate @leonardo_e_marmol ’s work at the iconic @charlesarnoldistudio , joined by friends, collectors, and collaborators across the design and art space. The closing felt less like an ending and more like a continuation, echoing the exhibition’s themes of return and renewal. Grateful for the time shared. More to come. As seen in @archdigest , @mayawilliamsdesign brings an outdoor oasis to life at her Malibu project. The landscape settles seamlessly into its surroundings, anchored by a step down fire pit seating area designed for gathering, unwinding, and taking in the view. In collaboration with @clusterdesignstudio . #RoxiePR

Our March gathering of DESIGNERS WHO COOK at The Luxury Kitchen was held in recognition of Nowruz, the Iranian New Year, bringing ancient tradition into a contemporary setting through an evening of Persian cuisine by designer Maya Williams (@mayawilliamsdesign ). The experience unfolded through layers of Persian culture and hospitality. Guests were welcomed by a traditional Haft-Seen table designed by Maya Williams, honoring the arrival of spring. At the dinner table, each place setting was personalized with names handwritten in Persian, alongside fun phrases to learn and saffron to take home. A special performance by the psychedelic Persian sounds of @shaherimusic set the tone for the night. Sherry Gvili, founder of The Luxury Kitchen, reflected on her Persian heritage and offered a live demonstration of her tahdig technique. The evening concluded with reflections on the history of Nowruz and a reading of Rumi by Roxie (@roxiestories ). Grateful to have come together in celebration of spring, renewal, and community. Thank you, Maya, for the beautiful collaboration and sharing your culinary talents with our community!

Nowruz Sound Healing at the Eames House ✨ It was so special to hold the first public sound healing program in this iconic setting, where architecture, sound, culture, poetry, and nature came together in a peaceful meadow overlooking the Pacific Ocean. A place long held as a landmark of design, creativity, and thoughtful living. A heart-centered spring equinox experience designed to bring a sense of tranquility, renewal, and deep restoration. @farhangfoundation Light Always Prevails Concert. Pictured with my mom next to the Haft Sîn at Royce Hall. Today marks Nowruz, meaning "new day," an ancient celebration marking the vernal equinox—a universal moment of rebirth and renewal. Celebrated for over 3,000 years, Nowruz is more than a holiday, it symbolizes the continuity of ancient Persian culture, enduring through time and vicissitudes. A reminder that even after the darkest winter, life and light always find a way to return. ✨ At the exact moment of spring, families gather around the Haft Sîn table, arranged with seven items beginning with the Persian letter “S,” each representing symbolic items: fertility, rebirth, prosperity, love, health, and beauty—including mirrors, eggs, apples, spring flowers, and sumac, among others. Haft Sîn displays are a beloved tradition in households welcoming the new year with growth, light, and wisdom. Sending love, light and hope to all. 🪻

As 600 Nowruz (Iranian New Year) banners (second slide) line the streets of Los Angeles, @farhangfoundation brings the message “Light Always Prevails” to Royce Hall on March 8, International Women’s Day, in a landmark concert honoring the enduring voices of Iranian people. Maestra Parissa, who is considered an icon in the male-dominated world of Iranian classical music, returns to the stage alongside Golda Zahra, hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “one of the rising stars of her generation." Golda will make her Persian language debut. The presence of these two world-class female vocalists, one a living legend of classical Persian music and the other a rising soprano star, marks a rare and historic moment. Taking place in Los Angeles, home to one of the world’s largest Iranian diaspora communities, the Nowruz Concert honors the voices, resilience, and cultural legacy of the Iranian people through music. Both vocalists will perform with the @the_iranshahr_orchestra , conducted by Maestro @shahab_paranj . The 2026 Nowruz banner lined across LA streets features the legendary bird in Persian mythology rising from her own ashes. Ghonghnoos symbolizes renewal, perseverance, and the triumph of light over darkness, resonating deeply with the enduring spirit of the Iranian people and the universal timeless meaning of Nowruz. #RoxiePR is beyond honored to represent Farhang Foundation and the Nowruz Concert again this year. @cbsla thank you for bringing greater awareness to Iran’s timeless culture and ancient history, and for sharing @golda.zahra ’s beautiful voice that will grace the stage on Sunday. More details can be found at Farhang.org LIGHT ALWAYS PREVAILS.
