‘Black Hut’ by Among the Pines artist Alice Sheppard Fidler, happily ensconced in the home of one of my favourite family’s.
Its companion piece ‘White Hut’ is available online through the Among the Pines gallery, and available to view in store @berdoulat_interior_design (please get in touch beforehand).
Alice Sheppard Fidler’s work is so very, very good. Well worth considering by any budding or established art collector. Alice uses found materials, elevating them through clever compositions, and a chic balance of materials and colour.
Framed in hardwood, by the masters that are @roframes in Stroud, behind museum glass. The frames complete the underlying artwork.
Please get in touch if you’d like to know more, or would like a catalogue posted out of @alicesheppardfidler ‘s work. It’s beautifully photographed (including the last three images here) by @carmelkingphoto

Work / Life Roundup — January 🌚❄️
1. Spending the winter months @lifeworkcommunities co-working space, redoing my entire website and catalogue. Dog-friendly, lots of lovely co-workers — but I have a soft spot for Chewy. 🤎
2. Collecting freshly framed works throughout January from @roframes
3. A Stroud stop always includes @the_biryanipot : Indian Railway Tomato Soup and the all-butter curry puff parcel.
4. Finding new ways to draw winter. ✏️
5. The joy of rhubarb appearing in the shops.
6. Another etching sold, in its natural frame. Only a small number left — catalogue and price list via the link in my profile. 🌹
7. Thank you to the person in Australia who had my work tattooed — always an honour. 🇦🇺
8. Beeswax candles year-round, but especially essential in winter to bring light to the long nights. 🕯️
9. More murals of native birds, please — spotted this beauty in Stroud.
10. Hamnet — a film that broke my heart and was inspiring on so many levels.
11. Always collecting bits and bobs for my pen pal: a pressed flower from last summer, magazine clippings, and postcards from shows I’ve visited.
12. A favourite painting I always seek out @walkerartgallery : Springtime in Eskdale by James McIntosh Patrick.
13. A new discovery — and completely stunning: Diana Wynyard in The Silent Knight by Ethel Leontine Gabain.
14. Wallasey (Bidston) Windmill was built in 1828 to grind corn for local farmers, using the exposed winds of the Wirral coast, and also served as a landmark for ships entering the Mersey.
15. A very restrained basket food haul from Gloucester Services — still thinking about those Welsh cakes. 🏴
16. Boarded-up windows to some; inspiration to me.
17. I’ve always loved cross-stitch kneelers in churches — this one was a knockout. ⛪️🌸
18 & 19. Binge-watched Dig for Britain. I love learning about our past, and the soundtrack is excellent — especially the episode on the Boar Head standard.

Alice Sheppard Fidler - corresponding forms
February 4th - March 5th
Among the Pines gallery opens 2026 with a solo exhibition of works on paper by British artist Alice Sheppard Fidler.
‘Corresponding forms’ is a presentation of exploratory “drawings” of wider concepts the artist may explore in her sculptural, media, and / or multi-disciplinary practice. Her compositions of found and painted materials satisfy aesthetic and logical architectural principles, whilst engaging on a deeper emotional plane. Her work speaks through abstraction to elemental perceptions of spaces and their configurations.
Upstairs and in ‘The Vaults’ @berdoulat_interior_design in Bath, and online in the Among the Pines gallery.

I’ve been working extensively in graphite recently, prompted by a desire to work on the Hayle Mill paper I acquired — a testament to how paper was once made. The mill no longer exists, and I purchased the remaining stock, making each sheet part of a finite history. These minimalist works ask for the same level of care in their presentation, which led me to collaborate with @roframes on bespoke exposed plywood frames.
The framing adds a layer of craft and extra detail without competing with the drawing. Whitebeam I and II, shown here, are both sold works and feature this exposed plywood finish.
All graphite works are available framed or unframed — I like to offer framing as an extension of the medium, allowing each body of work its own character.
To view the full collection of graphite works in this size, along with my current list of available works, please visit the link in my bio or get in touch directly.

Work/Life Roundup - November 🍁❄️
1. Mirror selfie of the month — taken while waiting in my car to use a photoshoot location. Trying to capture my new @liestudio_ earrings.
2. All my etchings laid out and ready to be hung for a shoot with @hana.snow in the most beautiful old church rooms from the 1800s.
3. I chose an oak stain for the frames this time — it sits so gently against the original panelling.
4. I have a feeling this view @risefrome will become a new painting soon.
5. A few of the apple offerings I’ve been collecting photos of — each one has such a distinct personality, I’m endlessly inspired by them.
6. Recently sold graphite works getting framed in exposed ply. The details and craftsmanship at every stage matter so much to me.
7. Whitebeam 2 has also sold and is about to get the @roframes treatment.
8. What I’ve been drinking this month: Ukrainian herbal tea from @experienceukraineandbeyond .
9. I was invited to @womenschapter ’s event @themanor_house in Castle Combe — truly a picture-postcard place.
10. I cut this little quote from the box my @acornvase arrived in. It feels like a perfect reflection of my work.
11. Ending this roundup with an article I read via @theartbystander — it encapsulates how I shape my career and everything I hope to communicate to current and future collectors.
