Our second TVC for @bramleycosmetics , created with @Brandrightza , was steered by the force that is @ayanda_duma_ a director who doesn’t manufacture “South African girls’ night” energy. She recognises it. She protects it. She lets it breathe.
This isn’t the glossy version of sisterhood. It’s the real one. The teasing. The truth-telling. The oil on collarbones. The “you look insane” followed by “no but actually.” The way we hold each other up in a country that can be hard on softness.
Ayanda brought instinct, rhythm and cultural fluency to every frame - letting the camera sit where it needed to, laugh when it should, and witness something honest.
Still celebrating the quiet power women share. Still passing the glow.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, director Mark Strydom is making things official with Robot, joining the team for local representation and bringing experience shaped across Africa and international markets back home. For the past few years, Mark has deliberately been directing outside South Africa, leaning into work across Nigeria, Kenya, Mozambique, Ghana, India, the Middle East, and parts of Europe. Different pressures, different cultural nuances, but across every market one principle stayed the same for him, “If the work doesn’t feel real to the people watching it, it doesn’t land.”

Recently named a quadruple threat by ididthat.co - Ayanda brought her instinct, softness and precision to two TV spots for @bramleycosmetics - and even made the music, under her duvet. Creative by MeowMeowWoof in collaboration with @Brandrightza . This is the first ad.
Bramley has lived in African homes since 2005. So this couldn’t be an “idea” of a woman.
Our creative approach was simple (it always is):
Celebrate softness in a country that can be hard to stay soft in.
Ayanda shot this without tropes. Without a borrowed lens (she doesn’t need one). Just South African women, reflected from the inside.
