All the sweat and hard work that goes into every competition, what happens behind the scenes is something truly special to witness. Cheering from the sidelines, camera in hand, capturing the intensity, the nerves, the teamwork, and those fleeting moments that make it all worth it. From the early stages of conceptualization to seeing each dish come alive, that journey never stops inspiring me. Every plate tells a story, and that’s what makes attending the @greatkitchenparty so meaningful. Six of Vancouver’s talented chefs took the stage this year, each vying for a spot in the Canadian Culinary Championship finals, happening in Ottawa this January 2026. A heartfelt congratulations to Chef Jaeyoung (Jay) Park @chefjyp of @blvdyvr , who will be representing Vancouver! It’s been amazing watching his growth these past few months — training tirelessly alongside @chefalexchen and the incredible @blvdyvr team. True one team, one dream energy. What a night at Great Kitchen Party Vancouver where food, teamwork, and purpose came together. Priced at $165 for a 54 oz tomahawk, or $135 for a 34oz porterhouse steak with jumbo garlic prawns, it’s available every Thursday evening, and includes all the sides too! Appetizers: 🩆 Foie gras pĂątĂ© – Truffle, candied hazelnut, porcini charcoal crumbs, and brioche. Rich, buttery, and indulgent. đŸ€ Burrata cheese – Served with slow-roasted beets, orange, crĂšme fraĂźche, endive, pistachio vinaigrette, puffed wild rice & pistachio crumble. HAPPY HOUR AT GLOWBAL! Executive Chef Robert Lee @robleecooking at Glowbal Restaurant @glowbalrestaurant @glowbalgroup in Downtown Vancouver has designed a Happy Hour available daily from 2:30PM to 5:30PM. Here are just some items to try! My favourite was Prawns with Chili Sauce inspired by Chef Robert’s grandmother’s recipe. This dish comes with prawns in a fermented chili bean sauce and grilled pita. The Glazed Pork Belly Bao was very tasty and had kimchi aioli and marinated cucumber. If you like sweet and spicy, the Sambal Glazed Wings with pickled daikon is a good choice. I also really enjoyed the prawn chips with Salmon Poke and ikura. There was the crispy on the inside and creamy on the inside Fried Macaroni & Cheese with truffle aioli. A nice light dish was the Beet Salad with Greek yogurt and pistachio vinaigrette. The Humboldt Calamari was very crispy and tender. And not to be missed are the selection of West Coast and East Coast Oysters. For drinks we tried The Roof with tequila, aperol and jalapeno agave syrup as well as The Melon with Absolut lime & watermleon vodka and cotton candy.
