📢 No to genocide. No to war. No to ICE. Trillions of dollars poured into occupying communities from DC to Palestine, Chicago to Venezuela while people suffer, starving, unable to make rent or get medical treatment. U.S. militarism is out of control and we are paying the price while corporations and authoritarians profit. But we can get organized to make sure we leave no one behind. #NoIceNoWar #FoodNotBombs #InvestInLife

📣 THE PEOPLE’S TABLE: COMING SOON TO A CITY NEAR YOU.  As the holidays approach, millions of families will be gathering around empty tables as our government still withholds critical food assistance that people rely on to eat—while sending billions to genocide, war, and militarism.  But we won’t let our communities go hungry.  We’re leaning in by joining The People’s Table, a growing network of organizations across the country defending, protecting, and feeding our people. Together, we make sure everybody eats. While our government abandons us, we’ll be setting up food distribution sites in cities across the U.S. to make sure families get fed and find community. But this isn’t just about food distribution, it’s also about holding our governments accountable — their role is to take care of our communities, not harm us. We have more than enough money and resources to feed everyone, during the holidays and every day.  Stay tuned for more information on The People’s Table in the coming days, including the location of our distribution sites, and how to get involved!    You can take action today and demand that Congress start prioritizing community needs and stop fueling genocide and war. Write to your Representative asking them to fund food, not bombs and co-sponsor the Block the Bombs Act to stop weapons to Israel: bit.ly/breadnotbombs (links in bio)

✨ Introducing our audience segment dating profiles✨ Are you a match? In this series you will get to know more about each of the audience segments we studied in our recently published digital magazine: Rising Narrative for Radical Futures In this People Power profile we’ve included: ✊🏽 How they see activism ⌛️ How they think change happens 📬 Who their trusted messengers are   Knowing these things about the audience you’re trying to reach makes it easier to tell stories that speak directly to their values and worldview. The stories we tell about our work matter, they can help create a sense of belonging in our movements or they can leave people feeling like our vision of the world is impractical and disconnected. Is this the audience you’re trying to reach? Who do you know that fits this profile? Save and share these posts for an easy reference for getting to know the People Power audience. #narrative #power #collectiveliberation #peoplepower

Get to know the four audience segments we studied through the media they consume! Does the audience you’re trying to reach watch historical dramas or dystopian comedy? Are they more likely to listen to conventional talk shows or podcasts about lifestyle and finance? Understanding what media each audience consumes tells us more about the narrative waters they’re swimming in, more about the stories they are hearing and more about how to reach them effectively. Our recently published magazine Rising Narratives for Radical Futures looks at how the issues we care about on the Left appear in popular TV shows, YouTube channels, and podcasts and maps the emerging narratives across these four distinct worldviews: • Our Base: People Power ✊🏽 • The Moveables: If You Say Sos 🙃 AND Tough Cookies 💪🏾 • Our Opposition: Don’t Tread On Me ⚡️ Each audience has a distinct profile and consumes distinct content, though some of the content we watched is consumed by multiple audiences. These “bridges” between audiences can reveal narrative opportunities! 🔗 Learn more, download the magazine today at the link in our bio. 🚨 Share with every movement worker you know. 📣 Midterm elections are coming, narrative power is how we win! #narrative #power #collectiveliberation

It’s been one week since we took to the streets to shut down business as usual on May Day. Rush hour traffic was blocked for several hours throughout the city together with partners @mdc_dsa @freedcproject @sunrisemvmtdc @popdemoc @spacesinaction and more. Our message was clear. No War! No Ice! Free Palestine. We called on an end to the war in Iran and Lebanon, the genocide in Palestine, the blockade in Cuba, and the militarization of our streets here at home. Our contingent was made up of healthcare workers, teachers, parents, hospitality workers, artists, students and more. We want funding for healthcare, housing, education, jobs, and climate justice not for endless wars and bloated budgets that fund the Pentagon and weapons for Israel. Next week, DC Local to Global will launch a website with of ways to get involved, resources to share & provide, trainings and actions to come to uplift and deepen the work on local & global issues. Stay tuned! 📸 : @1photographer4justice @amdocumentary 🎨 : @csrmxt | @maspaz | @411collective 👕 : @daphnedoesdesigns

Earlier this week, we dropped our new digital magazine, an in-depth resource for talking to audiences across different worldviews on the issues we care about most. What does this research mean for movement workers and ultimately for building Left power? We must craft messaging that speaks specifically to the audiences we are trying to reach. We need to be able to translate our vision without watering down our values. The Rising Narratives for Radical Futures magazine gives you a step by step for how to do this, including what types of messengers you should partner with and do’s and don’t’s for specific audiences. Download our magazine today at risingnarratives.com and access the most recent research on building narrative power in the U.S. Stay tuned next week to learn more about the audience segments we studied and what they are watching! #narrative #power #collectiveliberation

Over and over again, the Israeli military has used deadly bombs and weapons—made here in the U.S.A.—to commit horrific acts of genocide, massacres, and other war crimes. We remember every Palestinian, Lebanese, and Iranian person murdered in these atrocities. Their lives were precious. And in their memories, we call upon Congress to block the U.S.-made weapons Israel is using to kill and destroy en masse. The Block the Bombs Act (H.R. 3565), led by @RepDeliaRamirez in the House, would block all seven types of these deadly weapons if passed. Senators need to step up NOW and introduce a companion bill in the Senate. #StopArmingIsrael

Trump wants $1.5 trillion for the Pentagon because “It’s not possible for us to take care of day care, Medicaid, Medicare, all these individual things. They can do it on a state basis. You can’t do it on a federal [level]. We have to take care of one thing: military protection.”  He’s made it clear – now what are we going to do?  Millions were out in the streets for May Day and we need to channel that momentum to win permanent changes for our people. Join us on May 7 at 7:30pm ET / 4:30pm PT alongside human rights defenders, anti-war organizers, policy experts, climate and labor leaders, and more to learn how we can shift our democracy and economy from one of warfare to one of care.  Link in Bio or register here: bit.ly/carenotwarfare
