Right Angle began in 2005 as a business dedicated to understanding and improving life in cities. The idea back then was the same as it is now: to invest our time, energy and capital into making better places, because we believe that better places ultimately make for better people.
As of January 2024 Right Angle is re-balancing its efforts with a greater focus on owned projects and higher value consultancy work. While it is nice to be needed and growing, Right Angle will always be a niche and focused business, specialising in high-impact urban innovation. We select clients for their ability to positively impact the places in which they operate, and to improve the lives of people who will inhabit those places far into the future.
It’s the Tuesday after the January public holiday – school’s back and the work year can begin at full speed.
2023 was a big one for us, with projects across three countries and all eight states and territories. If you want to make next year’s showreel the best place to start is by downloading our 2024 Capability Statement from the link in our bio.

Exciting news from the west this week with development approval for Fiveight’s Carillon City redevelopment. Right Angle have been working on the project since 2022, first crafting a vision for the project, then helping brief @skidmoreowingsmerrill and the broader design team ( @aspectstudios and @hames_sharley ) for a project that will be transformative for the Perth CBD.

Today is a big day for @aplusinsights . Not only does our latest article really nestle into the overlapping focuses of Right Angle and A+ – exploring the transformative nature of great retail, urban renewal and regional development – but it also signals a new era for the platform’s UX. Over the past few months our creative team have been working closely with our developer @cameronaskin to realise a new set of storytelling devices, many of which are peppered through this article. This has been a goal of the platform from day one, so we’re proud to have achieved it and unlocked new ways to be a voice for hospitality. It’s best viewed on desktop but the mobile experience remains strong. Take a look via the link in our bio.
We survived.
Thanks, and see you in 2025. 🥂
Thanks @kristofferpaulsen for the snap. One of the world’s last anonymous food critics redacted for obvious reasons…
