Thanks to everyone who joined us last weekend at @vankidsbooks for a special conversation with our Founder, @rickhansenofficial .
Together with author @lornasn and illustrator @emmafitz_art , we shared stories, laughter, and insights into the creative process behind The Man In Motion picture book. We hope it will inspire a new generation of young readers to help identify and break down barriers for people with disabilities.

The Rick Hansen Foundation is proud to have helped guide and fund BC’s first Spinal Cord Injury Navigation service for clinicians and people living with spinal cord injury (SCI).
SCI Nav is a free Vancouver Coastal Health @vchhealthcare service that connects people living with spinal cord injury, families, clinicians, and community providers across B.C. with expert guidance and support.
SCI Nav helps navigate:
• Treatment, rehabilitation, and life with SCI
• Access to SCI-specific resources and education
• Connections to specialists at G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre
• Transitions from hospital to community care
No referral is needed! Anyone seeking SCI-related information or support can reach out directly.
This project is made possible thanks to input from @sci_bc and support from VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation @vghfdn

Over the past few months, communities, schools, municipalities, and non-profit organizations across Canada were invited to apply for the RBC Barrier Buster Grants Program — a national initiative celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Man In Motion World Tour and supporting accessibility improvement projects that help remove barriers in public spaces.
We received an overwhelming response that highlighted the strong need for accessibility improvements across Canada. We're grateful to our partners whose generosity and collaboration, made this program possible.
Thank you to @RBC and the RBC Foundation, along with our National Partners @CorusPR , @mcdonaldscanada , @pattisonoutdoor , @globeandmail , and @toyotacanada .
Your commitment and partnership is helping to build a more inclusive, accessible future for everyone.
What does it really mean to design for everyone? That question was at the centre of APN2026: Inclusive by Design, hosted in Toronto by the Rick Hansen Foundation and presented by the @yvrairport . In our blog recap, we explore how #APN2026 highlighted the next era of accessibility – one where meeting minimum standards is not enough, and where accessibility must account for the full user journey, be shaped by lived experience, and be embedded into systems from the start.
As #APN2026 reminds us, the same principles that shaped the Man In Motion World Tour 40 years ago continue to drive progress toward a more accessible, barrier-free future.
