Thanks to everyone who joined us last weekend at @vankidsbooks for a special conversation with our Founder, @rickhansenofficial .
Together with author @lornasn and illustrator @emmafitz_art , we shared stories, laughter, and insights into the creative process behind The Man In Motion picture book. We hope it will inspire a new generation of young readers to help identify and break down barriers for people with disabilities.
👉 You can find your own copy through @owlkidspublishing , at select bookstores like @vankidsbooks , or online.
🍫 We're also excited to share that @kasmachocolate on Granville Island has created a limited-edition chocolate bar. A portion of proceeds from each bar supports our Foundation.
Stay tuned for more!
It was wonderful to be back in schools for author visits. I haven’t done many this year. And it is a joy! Love the children and their questions and comments. Some make me laugh and others make me think! Thanks to Meadowbrook Elementary and Lynn Fripps schools.
What a wonderful book signing! Thanks so much to @vankidsbooks for hosting. And to @rickhansenofficial for being so engaging and to @emmafitz_art for her art and energy! And to my family @caitlin.rossi_ and good friend @cccpickle for showing up!!! I think a good time was had by all! I had a great time!
Author Lorna Schultz Nicholson and I met up with some lovely people who care about accessibility for a @janeswalkvancouver to both celebrate the birthday of planner and author Jane Jacobs, and to mark where Rick Hansen began his world tour 41 years ago. We took time to notice where accessibility is working, and where it is particularly challenging, trying to find news eyes and ways of understanding this important issue. Thanks to everyone who took time out of their sunny Sunday.
Especially sweet to enjoy a sketch by @merissavictor on the bus to my next event - the book launch with @rickhansenofficial at 6pm @vankidsbooks in Kitsilano 💚

Little bit of a mid-April dump. So much fun being in Toronto in early April for Mandi’s b-day party. @mandinicholson I absolutely LOVE spending time with my grandkids. The wonder of watching the trash truck, reading, cuddling and Cal getting a haircut! Plus the party!!! @marijeannicholson
Today is launch day! 📘
I’m excited to celebrate the official launch of The Man In Motion written by @lornasn , illustrated by @emmafitz_art and published by @owlkidspublishing .
As we continue to celebrate the 40th anniversary of my Man In Motion World Tour, I'm so pleased to share my journey with a new generation of young readers.
I hope this book will inspire kids to believe that anything is possible, encourage them to find barriers to remove, and see themselves as part of creating a more accessible and inclusive world for everyone.

Today is the day!! New book out today. An inspiring story about Rick Hansen- The Man in Motion! He overcame the odds to wheel the circumference of the earth to raise awareness for people with disabilities! His story is incredible. What an honour to write the words. And what a fabulous job @emmafitz_art did of the illustrations. ❤️❤️❤️ @rickhansenofficial
I’ve been having fun writing this column for Hockey News. They are doing a fabulous job of getting different stories, and I’m happy to write some for them. This was fun to write and positive. I like their initiative.
