It is day 1 at the @eurobike_show , the doors are open, the crowds are shuffling in and the energy is high.🚴 This year Reynolds celebrates the 30-year anniversary of 853, our premium grade of ferrous steel. 853 is renowned for producing light, stiff, yet supple frames. It offers our customers an improved combination of technical properties, workability, weldability, quality and cost-effectiveness in comparison to other materials.
With the launch of the Strael 4.0 back in February, we wanted to create a little video to showcase how collaboration is the key to creating new and exciting innovation for the future. And for this project, 853 was a huge part of that! We have been working closely with @fairlightcycles since they started and this is the culmination of all those years of effort. Dom Thomas wanted to push the boundaries of what you can achieve with a steel bike, and our mission was to help him achieve it. 15% weight saving with no loss of stiffness, comfort or performance. 💪

@pascal_lally is a shop regular and came to us a while back looking at a new gravel frame.
We brazed him together a Grauel using an 853 main frame with a mixture of Dedacciai and Columbus rear stays.
The elegant bends of the tubes allow us to build our gravel frames to take 700x50 tyres with minimal crimping.
Pascal had a few bits from his previous gravel bike we used, but opted to go for a shiny silver Middleburn chainset, CK headset and Ritchey finishing kit to complement the real talking point here - that amazing paint job.
Pascal had seen another frame we painted with this marbling technique and asked if it was possible to create a fade back to front, rather than fading 2 purples into each other, we achieved the effect with a higher concentration of black towards the back of the frame. It’s subtle but we think it worked really well.
Pascal makes bags as a hobby and made a set to compliment the new bike (the eagle eyed among you may spot there’s a couple of bits to finish on the bags but they look and fit great, not bad at all for a hobbyist!

Eroica Japan 2026 entry has started!
It will take place on Oct 31 – Nov 1 in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki, Japan, hosted by the Oarai & Hitachi Seaside Route Promotion Council.
The official poster is a special collaboration with Japanese bicycle culture artist Rinne, inspired by the iconic Kamiiso Torii on the seaside route.
On Oct 31, the “REYNOLDS RIDE” will also take place — open to all kinds of bicycles.
Early-bird entry is available until Jul 31.

Why run a mullet setup? With the smaller rear wheel, the back of the bike sits lower due to the smaller diameter wheel. BB is also lowered slightly which in turn lowers the centre of gravity improving handling and stability. It also slackens the head tube angle a touch, making the bike feel more confidence inspiring on steep trails. The riding position shifts slightly further back too which is another advantage when descending steep terrain.
The biggest benefit though is agility. The smaller rear wheel allows the bike to turn in and change direction more quickly, giving it a more responsive, playful feel on technical trails. So if you enjoy riding steep and demanding terrain, a mullet setup offers plenty of advantages.
If you’re more of an XC rider riding mostly rolling trails- particularly on choppy surfaces a full 29er is usually the better option for maintaining speed and efficiency.

Vingt ans que la Bretagne nous a façonnés — le dirt, les chutes, les sessions jusqu’à la nuit.
Aujourd’hui j’ai eu la chance de lui construire son vélo complet.
Du cadre sorti de l’atelier jusqu’au choix de chaque composant, tout pensé ensemble pour un rendu cohérent, sans rien laissé au hasard.
La couleur s’imposait d’elle-même : le Glaz. Ce bleu-vert breton qui change avec la lumière, la marée, le ciel. Ni tout à fait bleu, ni tout à fait vert. Vivant. Les paillettes dans la peinture, c’est le sable de nos plages, ou peut-être les étoiles qu’on retrouve toujours.
