Last week I had the opportunity to sit down with @alexcoheninla at @spectrumnews1socal to talk about the current state of Pride and the importance of workplace education on LGBTQ+ issues. There's so much more I wish I could have said about the need to address misinformation (like how TikTokers have been falsely accusing Target of selling “harmful swimwear” to kids) and how corporations have a responsibility to stand by the LGBTQ+ folks they partner with regardless of any backlash. Alex asked me about corporations that experience a drop in stock like Budlight. The truth is that the market goes up and down every day based on a multitude of factors and companies should be ready for that. By backtracking their support of Dylan Mulvaney they created a rift with the greater LGBTQ+ community and their allies. They had the opportunity to stand with the trans community and use their platform to educate the anti-trans boycott movement at a time when the TGX+ community needs it most. Not only have they lost profits from the boycott movement, but they’ve now lost out on new business from the LGBTQ+ community which holds an estimated purchasing power of $917 billion dollars in the U.S. With all that’s going on in the country, we need corporations now more than ever to use their power to uplift and support the greater LGBTQ+ community, especially the TGX+ community. I’m so grateful to Alex Cohen for using her platform on Inside the Issues to continually discuss LGBTQ+ issues year-round. Since first appearing on the show in 2019, I’ve gotten to experience their journey in allyship and it’s a huge example for me of what it looks like for people and entities to truly support our community. Thank you again to Alex and Spectrum News 1 for having me and for addressing these issues during Pride season and beyond 🙏🏻🏳️‍⚧️

I didn’t learn about the term nonbinary until I was 24. As a kid from the OC who wore baggy dickies jeans and did everything I could to look like Avril Lavigne (my first icon for gender non-conformity), I had no language to name my identity or that dressing like a sk8er boi felt authentic to me. I am so grateful for the visible trans folks who have come before to pave the way for me to find myself and make room for me to be seen. What a gift to share my truth with the world and be visible as a nonbinary person. I only hope that my visibility helps for others to see themselves. Happy Trans Day of Visibility 🏳️‍⚧️💗✨🤍✨💙🏳️‍⚧️ #tdov #transdayofvisibility #trans #transgender #nonbinary #tgx #queer #lgbtq

I’ve been living with debilitating long covid for almost 2 years. It’s vulnerable to ask, but I really need help. Please check out the 2nd to last slide with suggested ways to support me. Whether it’s now or two months from now, I know community support is what’s going to get me through this. Thank you so much for your care & support 💖💖💖

Had a phenomenal time presenting at #NGLCC2025 with @undead.voice on how to support trans & gender expansive employees in the face of DEI cuts. Met so many incredible leaders and change makers. Bought an array of rubber ducks. Dressed in all denim for the 80’s party. And was honored with the Network Impact Award for community building within the LGBTQ+ small business world. My heart is warm & my cup is full. Thank you to everyone new & old for making it such a great week! A true testament to the power & magic we hold when we come together 🫶🏻💛

Rex Wilde (they/them) is the Executive Producer of the Neurodivergent Voices Album. In this heartfelt interview, Rex opens up about their musical journey and the importance of finding queer and trans spaces that celebrated their identity as an artist. These experiences inspired Rex to create the Neurodivergent Voices Album Project, the results of which will debut later this month with a 12-track album of queer and neurodivergent artists. 🌈 “I realized how important it is to find those spaces that really see you for who you are, and are not only okay with that but actually celebrate that and intentionally create the space for you to belong there.” 📅 The wait is almost over! Join us on Friday, December 13th for our Album Launch Celebration Party, where we’ll unveil the album and celebrate this incredible project. Don’t miss it—RSVP in bio! 🔗 #NDVA #neurodivergentvoices #lgbtqartists # lgbtq #trans #nonbinary #losangeles #lgbtqmusic

I wrote this song the night Brett died. It’s one of those songs that just “came to me” in the midst of eternal heartbreak. Brett died in 2017, after just having turned 29. There were many special things I could share about Brett, but one is in the loving rituals we created with each other. While most people hug each other from right to right, Rachel (my sister), Brett, and I all used to hug each other from left to left and we’d call it hugging “heart to heart”. 💞 In November 2017, my sister and I went to the TDOR event in West Hollywood. That year they had indigenous healers providing a ritual for those in attendance. Rachel and I saw the healer for the ritual, and at the end they asked if they could hug us. When I went in for a hug on the right side the healer said “no” and moved my body for us to hug on the left side saying “heart to heart”. This was the first time I remember being visited by Brett after they died. And it was a reminder to me that even those who leave or are taken from us, are always with us. We carry them, and are called to care for their memory in our actions. After Brett died, I committed myself to two things in their memory: 1. Taking care of my mental health and living my life with as much joy as possible. 2. Using my work as an inclusion consultant to create the world they deserved to live in. This Trans Day of Remembrance, I honor the over 5,000 trans and gender expansive lives we have lost to anti-trans violence. And I honor the many who have been lost to suicide due to trans-hatred. You deserved a world that was more kind, more gentle, and more loving to you. May the lives we live on earth be in reverence to you this day, and every day 🤍🏳️‍⚧️🪽 #transdayofremembrance

Grateful to be 35 🌟 Tbh, the past year has been exhausting. After a fiberglass outbreak in our house, a breakup, becoming immunocompromised after a second covid exposure, caring for Chomper through her injury and surgery, and running my growing business, I’ve been maxed out. This year, the only thing I wanted for my birthday was to be surrounded by loved ones and for someone else to plan it for me. I am so lucky and grateful to have such incredible people like @raydiancehealing and @rozejczepeda who took the reins and went above and beyond to make my entrance into 35 such a special experience. They planned surprise brunch with my mom, a relaxing walk on the beach, and this incredibly fun & sweet bowling birthday party at the most adorable place in Montrose. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by community who really prioritized my health by masking (and even some who stayed home bc of potential health risks). I’m grateful to be reminded of the power of care & community. Thank you to everyone for making my day so special and gifting me with your love & presence. Happy Scorpio Season to all!! ♏️💝🌟🥳🫶🏻

Do yourself a favor and take the train to Monterey. ☀️🚲🛤️🌊 Bring your bike. Visit your friends along the way. Get a cute glamp site that makes a 10/10 vegan charcuterie board. Take a mad spill then buy yourself a giant latte. Watch the bagpiper play at sunset. Find yourself a hot tub. Visit all the seals and otters in the bay. Check out the aquarium. Get a shirt from the otter pun store. And listen to all the Laura Marling you can while riding through Salinas before catching the Railway EXpress (REX) where someone leaves you an unprompted tarot reading on your backpack. 💛🥹🦦🦭
