I brought these vintage Japanese “Edo-komon” silks back from Japan for my “Kimekomi Mari” workshop. You can make a one-of-a-kind accessory for yourself or your loved ones at my workshop! It’s a 2-hour workshop, and once you learn the technique, you can make many more at home with your own precious fabrics ✨ Link in my bio✨️ @reversegarbage #japanesecraft #upcycledfashion #slowfashion #silkaccessories #workshopsydney

The Inner West Family Hub Event was all about connection. 🤝 From origami to building big dreams with Lego, it was great to see the community come together through play. By giving preloved treasures a second life, we’re reducing waste and bringing joy to local kids. ♻️✨ Help us keep the momentum going. Follow to join the mission 🧡 It was amazing to see so many local organisations coming together to support our community. @sgch_ltd @workskil_aus @reversegarbage @addiroad @paintinnerwestread and many more #InnerWest #JoyOfGiving #Sustainability #CommunityPlay InnerWestSydney

Loose Parts Play. We care deeply about play that gets to reuse and reimagine form and function. At Grounded Curiosity so many of our materials have been sourced from items that once had a completely different purpose. Through children’s eyes, they become tunnels, marble runs, inventions, cubbies, water systems all with endless possibilities. Shout out to @reversegarbage for being the source of so many of our resources and inspiring a more sustainable approach to play and creativity. We are all about play that leads the way. #GroundedCuriosity #LoosePartsPlay #ChildLedPlay #SustainablePlay #Camden

Sewing, crafting, hobby babes, hold onto your butts! Apparently! Some of you have never heard of @reversegarbage in Sydney and that’s actually a craft crime. With a focus on upcycling and sustainability, you’ll find literally everything in this place. I love it to spark ideas and as a way to find a missing piece to finishing another idea. Some of my coolest finds are from here! Easy to get to in Marrickville, worth the visit! Have you been before? #reversegarbage #upcycling #sydney #craft #crafting

A quick summary on what’s slowing the move away from petrochemical plastics globally and locally! 🌏 This may start small, but we can make an impact by campaigning our politicians and industry on a national level 🐢 Main takeaways: ⛽️ No more government subsidies for fossil fuels 📦 Reform packaging guidelines ♻️ Improve recycling infrastructure 💰 Pressure businesses to use sustainable materials 💚 Join community groups If you’re interested in meeting people in their 20s and 30s who care about our planet, come down to our beach cleanup on Sunday! One of my favourite things about Australian Fashion Week is how often conversations begin through clothing alone. Both of these looks caught my attention immediately. I’ve always been drawn to upcycled and reconstructed fashion — pieces that feel personal, expressive and completely individual. Seeing @almightydut wearing this incredible jacket by @ethero_____ was such a moment. Soft Rebel in the best way 🖤 Fashion Week feels most meaningful to me in these kinds of moments. Grounded conversations, a shared love of fashion, and people expressing themselves fully through what they wear. It reminded me again that fashion becomes far more interesting when creativity is left in. When clothing is adapted, reshaped, personalised or reimagined instead of expected to look the same on everybody. That creative thinking is something that inspires me deeply in my own work with Dressability too ♠️ Also inspired this morning by @reversegarbage and their reminder that reworking materials can create something entirely new. Image descriptions. 1. Model Dut Bol wearing a reconstructed upcycled jacket by @ethero_____ at Australian Fashion Week. 2. A black blazer with an open back and sculptural gold wire detailing resembling a spider web. . . . . #AustralianFashionWeek #UpcycledFashion #ReworkedFashion #CreativeFashion PersonalStyle SustainableFashion InclusiveFashion SlowFashion FashionInspiration
