Happy Monday! I want to kickstart the week by giving a shoutout to everyone who has joined in on these Margate Artist Spotlight posts. The studio was founded in 2013 with a vision to create a space that encourages experimentation and collaboration in an inspiring and professional environment. Our members come from a wide range of practices and are at different stages of their careers, from emerging creatives to established professionals. A closer look at one of my own freeform circuitry pieces, framed in a deep mono black box frame. No glass! It uses sensors so the viewer can trigger lights and audio oscillators that independently shift dependent on distance. There’s no circuit boards, just skeletal point to point wiring. A huge challenge planning and soldering. No wires can touch. Apparently if it’s a triptych but double, it’s a hexaptych! I had fun getting out the vernier for two raised float mounted hexaptychs for some nice prints by @ulijaeger13 . You have two days left to get down to see the amazing Here and Now Exhibition at Pie Factory, Margate. Everybody at Resort Studios current and past have really pulled something special together. There are multiple mediums including print making, painting, film, installation, photography and a whole lot more. Open from 11am to 5pm get down and have a look before take down tomorrow evening. Really proud of everybody involved!
