Introducing TIDES
A collaboration close to my heart – I’ve been lucky enough to team up with the brilliant @broganjane of @sebastiancoxltd to create a limited-edition furniture collection launching at @londoncraftweek next week.
TIDES brings together my marbling with Brogan’s beautiful sculptural forms of sycamore tables inspired by our shared love of the coast and the natural rhythm of tides. Each piece is dipped by hand, capturing the movement of ink and water in solid, sustainable wood.
This has been such a joyful project — merging surface and form, function and feeling. Hope to see some of you there!

The paper dances softly on the water’s surface, its delicate movements shaping each layer of the landscape. With every graceful turn, it creates something unique, capturing the rhythm of the water and the spirit of the moment.
A collection of landscapes will be exhibited with @ruup.and.form for the upcoming show ‘Subtle Connections’ opening 29th January.

INTRODUCING OUR ARTISTS…
NAT MAKS and Brogan Cox come together to combine Nat’s fluid ink marbling with Brogan’s contemporary woodwork, creating functional, sculptural tables inspired by nature’s rhythm and the raw beauty of their coastal home in Margate. The pieces are crafted from solid, English-grown sycamore, and manufactured at the Sebastian Cox workshop, using a hybrid approach: CNC machining for precision, and extensive hand-finishing to retain the warmth and nuance of craft. Each table is then hand-dipped in marbled ink - the fluid markings wrapping the wood in a gesture reminiscent of waves washing ashore.
TIDES is more than a table collection - it’s a love letter to overlooked materials, to the sea, and to slow, intentional making. It’s also a reflection of a partnership between two female makers who are quietly helping to reshape the conversation around craft, collaboration and materiality. It couldn’t be a craft show in Margate without including this jubilant work.

Last week I had the pleasure of taking part in The Ultimate Evening of Craft at the V&A hosted by QEST
It was such an inspiring night celebrating the work of over 40 incredible craftspeople and I felt very honoured to be among them. I shared an introduction to my scholarship research, which focuses on developing site-specific pigments and colours for my marbled landscape series. It was a real joy to speak about this evolving body of work and the ideas shaping it.
A huge thank you to @qestcraft for the invitation, @vamuseum@penhaligons and to all the wonderful guests who came along, it was so lovely to meet and chat with so many of you.
One of the biggest highlights, as always, was catching up with and meeting fellow makers. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a generous, passionate and supportive craft community 🤍

It was such a pleasure to see Natascha Maksimovic @natmaks presenting her work at the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of the QEST celebrations.
A 2024 QEST Scholar, Natascha works with the traditional Japanese technique of Suminagashi, gently guiding water and pigment into beautifully fluid compositions. Her recent focus on developing botanical inks from plants, mushrooms and earths brings an added depth to the work, where each piece begins to feel like a landscape shaped by both material and place.

A weekend spent in North Wales for the opening of Grain + Fibre at Ruthin Craft Centre. Curated by Gregory Parsons, the exhibition brings together works created with wood and paper, and I’m very grateful that four of my landscape pieces were chosen to be part of it.
Spending time walking the landscape and collecting earth and minerals for my pigment work, I was struck by how familiar it all felt. The colours, textures and forms echoed the landscapes and its surroundings. It really highlighted how circular my process is, taking from the land, responding to it, and translating those experiences back into imagined landscapes on paper.

@dorys_of_margate will be closing its doors on 24th March, marking the end of an incredible chapter. This date also coincides with the 2-year residency of Memory Landscapes, an ever-changing installation that has found so many landscapes new homes with guests. What was only meant to last a couple of months became something that felt like it had always belonged, thriving in the heart of Dory’s.
I want to extend a huge thank you to the team at Dory’s for welcoming the landscapes so warmly and helping them reach a wider audience. It has been such a joy to be part of the restaurant’s journey and to watch these pieces live and breathe in such a special space.
And don’t worry… more marbling delights are on their way as we join Angela’s new location. Stay tuned… delicious patterns await 💕
In the meantime, make sure to visit Dory’s whilst you can!
