My "office" this past Sunday afternoon. @kammerchorlondon performance of Handel's Messiah. And absolute outstanding concert that was executed wonderfully! Such immense talent on that stage, vocals, instrumentation and conducting! Well done! When I record this choir, my go to setup at the conductors request, is a modified ORTF configuration. I use two @sennheiser #MK4 cardioids for the ORTF, and a matched pair of @neumann.berlin #KM183 omnis aimed at the audience for more atmosphere and room. Original plan for this concert was to use all 8 channels on my @sounddevices #MixPre10II but there was a last minute change in the setup on stage, preventing me from doing more mics. That said, I MUST give a shout out of thanks to Dennis at @sounddevices support! He helped me sort out some matrix routing issues i was having, as well as helping me out with my @wearenovation #launchcontrolxl (which I now didn't use in this smaller setup). Sorry, only two photos today. Doing BTS photos for a commercial shoot, for @reuxagency @derek_lamoureux . Started off at 0600hrs and the first location was all outside... 4.5hrs... with temperatures dropping each hour, plus windchill. Yeah, that sucked, but we are all professional and as always, everyone brought their "A" game to make sure the client gets the best result. Wrapped shortly after 1900hrs. Three locations. Actors. Another great use for my @matthewsgrip #infinityarm. Shading my camera and I by holding my @orcabags umbrella! Guerrilla shade construction lol. MacGyver! I've operated camera at a lot of festivals over the years. And there are a LOT of amazingly talented female artists (Canadian female artists). But this past weekend, at @lucknowsmitf I had the pleasure of working with the queen... @sass.jordan ! Such a super nice and friendly woman. It was great to meet you and chat with you, and to work your show. Sass still "has it." And her band was terrific. A great set with all her hits. Also, I had the chance to reconnect with an old friend, and Sass' tour manager and FOH tech Andrew White (2nd pic). Great seeing you again buddy! On this very date, 44 years ago, myself and 3 friends made our way to what was then called London Gardens, here in #londonontario to see, the man... @ozzyosbourne on his first solo tour, #blizzardofozz. What a night. The music. The show. Finding a way home afterwards (that's a whole other story). Ozzy, Randy Rhoades, Rudy Sarzo, and Tommy Aldridge! Holy shit! I still have my shirt! Doesn't fit anymore. But I'll never part with it. Thank you Ozzy for so many decades of great music, stories, and even laughter. The impact you made on so many is immeasurable. You helped bring so many new artists up through the ranks, showed them how it's done. Gave them a shot (bands and musicians). Mentored them. And that in turn gave us fans even more great music to love. May you rest in peace now. My office Monday night... working @jellyroll615 first ever Canadian concert! I was the stage left camera position. Best "seat" in the house, lol!
