My oh my. Working on this project has truly been an honour. I have so loved going on this creative journey with
@jordanmackampa and helping build and design the world around their new album ‘Welcome Home, Kid!’. At the core of the album is the idea of reaching a point where you are returning home to yourself… “with this album being the house I grew up in and the different rooms being the shelters that gave me comfort.” For me, Jordan embodies the meaning behind his songs, with this collaborative process being one of the most peaceful design projects I’ve had to date.
Taking cues from Jordan’s childhood memories and early influences of 90’s/early ’00s North London, Black music such as disco, jazz, garage, soul, funk, gospel, Motown, R&B, grime and hip hop, as well as the poster in Jordan’s mum’s kitchen, lead for the forming of the album launch artwork. These are the tour posters, which combines nods to the iconic ‘parental advisory explicit content’ mark, with old soul record labels and old Black power posters. The handwriting is Jordan’s mother’s, giving the artwork roots
Thank you to the wonderful
