Introducing our guest for our 15th edition of our mix series: @rasaaq Rasaaq is the product of an upbringing in diaspora, splitting time between the coasts of Nigeria and the United States. Approaching DJing as a world-building art, he moves between genres with ease to create spaces where dancing is not a choice, but a calling. As resident of the rising Sojourn Boston, he’s establishing himself as one of the ascending American talents in next generation of dedicated diggers and story tellers, capturing attention domestically and abroad. In this mix, Rasaaq weaves through dusty tech house, driving disco, pitched down chuggers, and cheeky electro - all the while capturing the cosmic aura he finds comfort in. Get the tele on! 📺 @rasaaq from across the pond! 🇺🇸🇳🇬 This one was spontaneously recorded after we closed up for the day, so its an after shop hours special. We first met the lovely soul when we played at a series he co-runs in Boston called @sojourn_boston where they packed a dance floor full of legit rocket scientists and we all slammed it out in a hidden garden underneath a huge billboard between two motorways. Rasaaq was such a class act on the warm up that magical day, and so we had to ask him to record a VGTV as he was passing by Lyon ❤️

what to say except thank you Brussels from the bottom of my heart. Here, I have an extended family that keeps on growing 🫂 a sold out night in one of the best sounding rooms in the world is a dream I can’t believe came real. it’s an incredible honor to represent @sojourn_boston & @hoppers_music abroad - the village that built me in Boston never leaves my heart. quite hard to not get too sappy but there’s no point in resisting - if you know me you’re well aware I can’t hide my love for this music and the people it brings together. to be reunited with so many friends, to see so many faces who joined me here last time in August….couldn’t help but shed tears :,) thank you to @sono_ventura_soundsystem for your continuous trust and support, to @nathan.umi @_ofrn_ manning this incredible sound system, to the incredible @umibrussels team, and to @the.poppy.show , @aroh__dj , and @ava___eva for helping me do what I love most: dancing my ass off after an amazing set :) a very special thanks @harold.mp1 for being my lovely host and dancefloor soldier - being with folks like him makes my obsession with digging and DJing feel right at home. In collaboration with the h+t crew, he’s cooking up something special to create a unique and fun environment for dancers at the Meadows Sounds from all corners of the globe; curation with intention and instinct — a perfect recipe for some h+t magic

Hoppers returns to Boston for our 3rd consecutive Somerville Porchfest. Hoppers residents, Rasaaq (Boston), J Bolivar (Denver) and Pandero (NYC) come together to represent each of their dynamic scenes. Porchfest is one of the country’s largest free DIY music festivals and has been a yearly tradition we’ve been honored to share our voice in. We’ll see you at 102 Morrison ave Somerville, MA, on Saturday, May 9 from 12:30-3 and from 4 onwards to enjoy great chunes, dancing, and (hopefully 🤞) sunshine. Boudoir is delighted to be back at Manray this month and share the stage with the Sojourn @sojourn_boston crew. Steadily growing their presence in Boston by throwing intentional, thoughtfully curated dance events rooted in a pure love of dancing, Sojourn continues to build dancefloors where dancers feel free to go deep. We welcome Rasaaq @rasaaq and Chaouki Alba @chaouki__alba , 2 of the selectors behind Sojourn, to join resident Mx. Sojourn Presents: Massaï & Rasaaq We’re pleased to invite the French-born and UK based Massaï, a selector shaped by years spent seeking emotion in rhythm and connection in space. His journey has evolved into a delicate balance between intuition and precision, where every record tells a fragment of a story. He curates sonic worlds that mirror his vision: subtle yet bold, fluid yet grounded. His musical language blends the warmth of house with the raw pulse of techno, tracing slower, hypnotic lines along the way.   During the opening hours, Sojourn resident Rasaaq will guide the room through the depths of his sound. Gliding between hypnotic shades of house with an ear for the cosmic, he weaves beautiful and moody music to create spaces where movement is a calling, not a choice. After time spent elsewhere in Europe and the states, he returns to his musical home with a reinvigorated passion. On April 18th, we wade through murky waters in search of something deeper, returning to a warehouse setting that evolves with each dive.
