Our current project - On The Volcano As Kyiv is drawn into its fourth year of war and Western attention fades, three young men search for ways to give space to their grief, their fear, and their creativity. In the underground raving scene, they find a place to breathe and release. Three young men — Vova (23), Vlad (23), and Andriy (25) — move between expectations of masculinity and their need for self-expression. In the lead-up to the next Resonance rave, their paths intersect. On the Volcano explores how the rave scene functions for them as a site of release and community: a way of coping with an uncertain future, in which fighting at the front, fleeing, or perhaps even peace are all possible outcomes. A film by Jim Brink (@jim_brink ), developed together with So-We Blended (@so.we.blended @jetvanschie ) and Eveline Levin (@eva_levina ) in support of Shortcutz Amsterdam (@shortcutz_amsterdam ). Arnaud Rebotini behind the machines, pounding the raw muscular heart of techno. An analog madman, he feeds the machines his guts, and they throw the soul back at the crowd — alive, unpredictable, instinct-driven. In Kyiv, a city that’s learned to live under pressure, this kind of energy isn’t escape. It’s resistance. It’s release. Proof that even now, people here can build something louder than fear. Brave! Factory stands as a self-erected bastion of resistance — a reminder that creation still beats destruction. Escapístico by Insha Dance Company isn’t about escape. It’s about what happens when you stop running and face what’s left. The silence, the noise inside, the versions of yourself you meet when there’s nowhere to hide. Freedom here doesn’t come easy. You feel it. The tug of war between escape and return, between who you are and who you’re avoiding. It’s messy, human, and painfully familiar. No dialogue, but you feel every word. Shooting it felt less like documenting and more like trying to keep up with what was happening inside me. Shot for: @bravefactoryfestival Performance by: @insha_dancecompany Kyiv, Ukraine 2025.

70 dB noise limit? That’s a household vacuum. And that’s the sound of Boston’s culture on mute. One summer night, the city disappeared. In the garden under the billboard, vinyl crackled; the artists had crossed an ocean to share their sound. We lost track of time, found connection, and dreamed out loud—what Boston could be. These limits don’t just quiet the music. They silence the community. They suffocate grassroots collectives who pour in their own time, money, and love—often losing more than they gain—not for profit, but to foster belonging. They bring world-class artists and curated experiences to our neighborhoods. They create nightlife where women and marginalized communities feel safer than anywhere else. @cityofboston @mayorwu City of Boston says it wants art. Connection. Safety. But safety isn’t just quiet streets. Safety is nuance. Channels that protect neighbors while fostering culture. Permit pathways scaled for small, community-driven events. Noise allowances for DJs and artists who practice responsibility and respect. Without this, the city’s creative core can’t survive. Safety is culture. It’s belonging. It’s the nights when we lose ourselves and find each other. That’s the heartbeat of Boston—a city alive, not on mute. Shot for: @sojourn_boston (❤️🦄) DJ: @legram_vg , @rasaaq @chaouki__alba

Walked into a boutique pop-up tucked inside an old kino studio at an electronic music festival in Kyiv. I meant to take a few backstage photos. But then I met @iarxlaw . Twenty minutes in, we were mid-impromptu shoot. The windows in the photos were blown out by a Russian missile two days later. Dresses: @cilinochi Eroticwear: @anoeses.brand Model: @iarxlaw

I miss shots, I wait too long, and I rely on dumb luck for the light to hit just right. But hard techno belongs in the dark — it gives us freedom to not be seen. Shot for: @experience.collective DJ: @vladjevtic @thedrainiac Space: @cloudandspirits

My ovaries are (apparently) on a timer, and yet I still feel like a child. I don’t work a 9–5 or rent a condo in the sky with floor-to-ceiling windows — I have thrifted clothes and a half-baked plan for what happens next. Being curious is my greatest asset. I live for experiences and creative ideas, not practical goals. Like one of those old Nintendo side-scrollers: you only see as far as you’ve run. You jump and grab your coins — maybe you fall in a hole, maybe you hit the flag. What brings me joy is people. I collect them like shiny beach shells — all colors and edges. Not all of them make it home, but the few that do stay in my pockets for years. I drift, I don’t belong — I dip in and out of circles like a hostel tourist with no luggage. I follow commotion, impulsive detours, and late nights that turn into mornings. So here’s to my expiring ovaries, my better-than-ever sense of self, my overly curated silly nights — and the people who keep my pockets full of shiny things. May I never be practical enough to stop being curious.

Carriage House, Pt. II: Euro Grooves & Cigarettes Could’ve used flash, would’ve made it all easier. But I like feeling the room as is. Dim red light flattens everything, hides the faces, swallows the details. So you wait. You shift. You hunt for contrast, a glint off glass, a shape in the dark. Most frames don’t land. But you get close enough to keep playing. Shot for: @sojourn_boston & @analog.volts
