@jenkimatcha has relaunched its matcha bar at Selfridges London with a redesign by @rainwu_ , marking a new chapter in its presence within the department store following its original pop-up debut in 2022.
Positioned between The Foodhall and Beauty Hall on G, the redesigned space reflects a more permanent and considered expression of JENKI’s identity, translating the precision and ritual of matcha preparation into a spatial experience.
By invitation of @tba_21@elii_architecture and supported by @camgulbenkian I’m in Venice to create an aperitivo with @piestr0@barenabianca and @katinka_versendaal , for the final symposium of Bauhaus of the Seas Sails project @bauhaus.seas funded by European Commissions. Over a drink, 3 starters, a main, a side and a dessert, we look at how eating becomes an act of metabolising the land.
My contribution with @inesns and @mariana.sanchez.salvador presents two autumnal gifts - a drink made of apple peels and a cake made of chestnut flour.
Here on the photo - chestnut cake rests on chestnut leaf - a haiku-like meditation invites the eaters to link the cake that nourishes the body to the leaf that nourishes the land.
More info on all the BoS projects are here: bauhaus-seas.eu
Thank you @giardinvenezia for hosting us!
Thank you @adriggallo for going leaf gathering with me

Taiwanese artist based in London who uses food as a way to explore ecological, geographical, and cosmological ideas.
In “Us Above, So Below” and ”Towards a Sweeter Future (2015”), she reflects on how everyday gestures, eating, growing, sharing, can become acts of collective transformation.
Inspired by the Sunflower Movement, she highlights the importance of participation and hope: imagining the future is a shared responsibility, shaped by younger generations acting together.

On the occasion of @ursulakleguin ‘s would-be 96th birthday, @sarah_shin_@harrietgjennings had the incredible idea of making Le Guin a birthday cake in tandem with exhibition The Word for World at the @aaschool showing many previously unpublished maps of Le Guin’s worlds.
I made an edible landscape inspired by the food and terrains found in Le Guin’s novels with polenta cake valleys shaped to the valleys of Hualien, edible confetti almond pebbles, romanesco spirals to mark villages, alongside etiquettes of sharing food with birds, drawing talismanic maps, and eating from communal pickling barrel. Thanks all for sharing the evening together and allowing me to delve into the depth of maps and meanings through food.

🧂 After much fermenting, I can finally share more about this sweet–salty–spicy artists’ recipe book.
Food is born from the sea, like all of life. What we have in common with all living beings – what allows life itself to be possible – is the ability to be nourished.
Mirna Bamieh reminds us: "Salt is hope, Salt is future time." Salt is born from the sea, like all of life.
With contributions by the fantastic and most generous Maya Minder (@gasthaus_kitchenlab ), Rain Wu (@rainwu_ ), Lei Saito (@lei_saito ), Catherine Cattaruzza (@catherinecattaruzza ) and Mirna Bamieh (@mirna_bamieh ), this book grew out of a curatorial residency at @citedesartsparis , in partnership with @gulbenkianparis .
Beautifully designed by @ilhastudio .
Available at selected independent bookshops or via the link in bio. 💙

10 Questions With… Rain Wu
London-based creative Rain Wu has been quietly carving out a practice that resists the neat labels of architect, artist, or designer. Driven by a love for storytelling, her work drifts fluidly between public art installations, restaurant interiors, edible sculptures, and much more, with each one shaped by a desire to craft multi-sensorial environments and experiences.
In her home city, she’s been developing interiors for several eateries, from her immersive settings for the digital-only stores of The Salad Project to the more warmth-infused staging of Arôme Bakery. Both draw on narratives embedded in cultural memory and tap into its symbolism in subtle yet intentional gestures, attuned to a site’s physical and emotional cues. These perspectives are shaped as much by the more logical elements of her architectural training as they are by her fascination with atmosphere. A similar sensitivity threads through her public art installations, most recently in Abu Dhabi, where she created a delicate threshold between aquatic and terrestrial realms that stretches across a mangrove park like a glimmering night sky.

Unveiling the spice rack! Collaboration made with the “Eating between the tides” residency! The spice rack intends to showcase halophytes foraged from the banks of the Tagus river in Lisbon!
We co-designed the structure with @rainwu_ . The biofoam mats are made by @biomatterlab composed of agar agar and oyster powder, whilst the bowls are made from our ‘oystermix’.
