On the @drumhistory_podcast Max and I talked a little bit about our approach to snare beds. I found an old video and a photo showing us tackling a bunch of orders. Needless to say, these were forearm burners. There is a definite method to our madness and our drums would not sound the way they do without it. #qdrumco
Last week @mxqzr and myself got to speak with the ever so sultry Bart van der Zee of the @drumhistory_podcast about building drums, OCDP, Q, how we got our start, and of course what’s going on with my health, plus many other things. It was very much needed and it was a ton of fun and I hope you enjoy it. I believe it drops tomorrow on all podcast platforms as well as YouTube. We will add the think in our Bio when it becomes available! Enjoy!! #qdrumco #drumhistory_podcast
Hi everyone, Roger here. An incredible group of people have donated items and their time for an auction that we’ve created to help raise additional funds to help pay for Jeremy’s bills. Auction is live now and will end on 11/23. Link is in the bio. Please share!
Hi Everyone, It’s been 3 months since my cancer diagnosis. In that time, I have been on a rollercoaster ride that I would never wish upon anyone. The physical and emotional toll it has taken on my body is indescribable. Not to mention the toll it has taken on those closest to me. I have been through 4 rounds of immunotherapy/chemotherapy so far. I have two more to go and then I’ll take a PET scan beginning of November to see if anything has changed. I know I have an extremely long road ahead of me however, because of the unbelievable help from the drum community, the touring community, and all of my amazing friends and family, I am able to focus solely on fighting this. The good news. I am feeling so much better. I am finally getting out of the house, doing small workouts, and trying to gain my weight and strength back. All of your well wishes, prayers, encouragement and support, have helped me feel like I can fight this. With all that said, the shop is calling my name. I need to get back in there to help with my mental state. Everything I have done to fight this has been necessary but the toll it has taken on me mentally has been rough. Building drums has always been a respite from the doldrums of everyday life. It gives me purpose and an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. I want that back, and soon, I plan on getting it. Thank you to everyone that is rooting for me. I don’t know how to express my appreciation properly because it’s so overwhelming. Please know that all the well wishes have been instrumental in my fight and lift me up everyday.
Thank you so much
Jeremy
Been on the road for a couple of months now but during rehearsals, I needed to build some drums for our tour.
Our bass tech and talented photographer @sotw.live shot some footage of the build. Not the most convenient space to work but it sure was fun! Thank you Jon for capturing it!
I never take for granted the opportunity I have as a drum tech. Learning how to make Q drums sound the best they can in all the different settings/venues, as well as figuring out what will make them withstand the rigors of tour life.
It’s all invaluable information and I’m grateful for the opportunity to take advantage of it. Which all translates to better drums for all of you!!
