PS37, the popular event space in Durham’s Central Park district, will close at the end of 2025. November and December are notoriously the slowest months for music and event spaces, but co-owner Griffin Wade says that they intend to keep the flame alive through the venue’s final months. “Closing on New Year’s Day puts a nice exclamation point on things,” he said. “Our goal is to book as many of our favorite DJs and performers as we can until then.” Check out the full story at link in bio or at wuncmusic.org 📸 @novisaparty @hifilorau @zoraholivia @tommycoyote_ NOTE: Lauren Hussey became Wade’s business partner in 2022. PS37 was originally opened as a maker’s space by Wade, Tom Rau, and Chance Griffin.

It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve this community for the past 6 years and it was your participation and embrace that has made PS37 successful. At the end of this year, we will be closing our doors at 600 Foster Street. As you can imagine, we are sad to be bringing this chapter to a close, but we are excited to focus our energy on what lies ahead. We are so thankful to all of you for making PS37 what it is. To anyone who has ever organized an event, performed, showed their art, sweated on the dancefloor, bought a drink or a ticket, we are beyond grateful for you. The community that has been built through this space is invaluable. PS37 will remain your favorite party place through the end of the year, so there will be plenty of chances to come shake your ass until we dim the lights and close the doors on New Years Day 2026. We love yall deeply and are looking forward to sharing what’s next 💜 - Griffin, Lauren and the PS37 team

Thank you to everyone that came out to see my exhibit, to those that came by multiple times and brought friends, and to those that purchased prints. In a time where we are barreling towards fascism it is good to know that there are people who will still support artists who are speaking their mind. The biggest of thank yous to Rang Rajaram aka @djrang and Griffin Wade aka @ps37durham for pushing me to do this. Thank you @kidethnic for always wanting to capture me on film. Thank you to @irene_onthescene and the @jaderabbitcompany for blessing us with most amazing Khao Soi, it was a dream come true to pair my art with the food of my ancestral homeland. Thank you to @speedball_art for the continued support of my practice and of my radical print workshops. It’s taken me 40 years but I finally feel like I have surrounded myself with people that actually care and support my practice and art. I am proud to make Durham my home and to fight for the people of this city and the greater state of North Carolina. 2025 had been a year of great things and of fucking terrible things. I will not go silently into that long night. If you aren’t ready to fight white supremacy and fascism in 2026, you need to shut your bitch ass up and get the fuck out of the way. One thing you must remember everyone is a leftist in the eyes of a Nazi. Stay frosty comrades.

Dear Durham Community, We have some big news. Our friends at PS37 are wrapping up their time at the space on Foster St., and like everyone else in this town, we’re feeling all the feelings. For many of us, PS37 has been a vital force in Durham. A space that lets artists push boundaries, throw their dream shows, and gather without pretense. It has been a haven for experimentation and community, and we have endless reverence for everyone who built that space, filled it, and believed in it. And now, we’re stepping in to carry the torch in that same room. While we are not attempting to replicate PS37, we are committed to honoring its spirit through our own mission and programming. We will build on the PS37 legacy in a way that feels uniquely BOOM Club. As we take root in the building, BOOM Club will continue developing its focus on experimental sound, synthesis, community-driven workshops, art-forward performances, and accessible educational resources for aspiring and practicing musicians. We’re also doubling down on being a home for local performers across the spectrum of electronic music. And through all of it, we’ll continue to honor the spirit of DIY and the mission to keep creativity feral. In support of this expanded vision, BOOM Club will be transitioning to a membership-based model designed to sustain the space, support artists, and strengthen the organization’s synthesizer library and public programming. This structure will help ensure that experimental, community-centered creative work continues to thrive in Durham. But don’t worry, our space will still be open to and serve the community as well. Additional details about opening dates, programming, and membership options will be released in the coming weeks. BOOM Club is grateful for the opportunity to continue the building’s legacy as a home for creative exploration and to contribute to the vibrancy of Durham’s arts community. Durham forever
