And to add to our announcements today… we’re excited to share that HOUSE OF BLK is returning Saturday 6/6 at PINHOOK 🖤✨ Featuring Conjure favorites @femithefemme + @gemynii alongside special guest DJ @djcerajane coming all the way from Atlanta to spin in Durham for the very first time. We’re also opening up a guest DJ slot for the night! If you’re a Black or POC queer DJ and want a chance to play HOUSE OF BLK, send us a video clip or digital mix to our DMs. Submissions will be accepted through 5/20. Over the past few years, HOUSE OF BLK has become a space to celebrate the deep Black and queer roots of House music — from the classics to the future sounds, across the African diaspora. We are brining back our favorite jams from the 70s and 80s which is the music we grew up listening to with our mamas, aunties, and grannies! Its a beautiful weekend in Bull City upon us! Starting the weekend off FRIDAY 4/24 BODY ROLL with @gemynii playing soul, funk, rnb, disco and more from the 70s and 80s at @eveofdurham all night long! SATURDAY 4/25 Then I have the pleasure of hanging out with and celebrating @papa_tice and open up for some house heavy hitters. Her sets are often peppered with doumbek, softening the edges with disco bell and tsifteteli. She is a co-founder of @moodboard_party and the creator of the DIALED IN daytime pop-up food and music series.
