Peace family. I would like to share with you one 3 story message of many in a neighborhood I went to middle school in. With a combination of styles I wanted to #breathelife back into our neighborhoods one mural at a time. Thank everyone for their support and most of all your attention. @professorvexer this one is for you big brother. See y’all at work. Live in Love. Title: Breathe Life 2 “At a time when my people cannot breathe, I’m asking us to always ‘Breathe Life'” Description: Breathe Life 2 is showcased in a space with personal context and it also intended to engage a global audience. “Most artists are forced into the corner of representing a singular ‘community’ but if you define community as the thing that you have in your heart, the thing that walks around with you, then the idea expands and becomes more real, as an artist, my work Is representing and speaking for anyone who has a shared experience. Artists need to be acknowledged for having a personal practice that can span experiences that aren’t bound by a neighborhood or city. That’s how you find the like-minds in the room. I’m a Black man from Roxbury but my community is across the nation and of the world. I created the ‘Breathe Life’ series because I wanted to create a gift for our city and leave a bold visual representation that matters. I want this mural to deliver a positive message that solidifies the powerful value of the community that I was raised in.” #roxburystrong ❤️🖤💚 The latest project for Madison Park’s Nelson Mandela Community Center located at MadisonPark Technical Vocational Highschool in Roxbury, MA   @MFAboston Artists in Residency Program 2020-21 Mural represents art by: Paul Goodnight,Dr. Robin M Chandler, Bob Freeman, Larry Pierce,Rufus Faulk Toney Concep,Mickalene Thomas, Kara Walker,Rob Stull,Timmy Allen,Deme5-Kwest-Byg,Stephen Hamilton, Percy Fortini Wright In honor of Tyrone Gibbs , Marvin Bynoe ,John Lewis , Jean Michel Basquiat and fellow artists covered in @lizmunsell book titled : Writing the Future: Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation. 🚨TONIGHT! Thursday, May 7th, 6-8pm Join us at @blkchipgallery for ATLAS: The Art of Storytelling - a solo exhibition debut of @streettheorycollective ’s Artist- in - Residence, Michael Talbot @talbotsart . 🎨 Atlas: The Art of Storytelling 👀 On View: May 7-June 30 Opening reception: 🗓️ May 7th  ⏰ 6pm - 8pm 📍 BLK Chip Gallery 155 Seaport Blvd. Boston, MA Michael Talbot is a Jamaican-born, Boston-based Freelance Artist and Visual Story-teller who has worked on a wide range of projects, murals, exhibitions, and showcases since 2012. His work, often narrative-driven, is most characterized by the keen use of motion, negative space, as well as a limited palette reminiscent of graphic novels and other forms of sequential art. About Atlas Developed during his residency at Street Theory Collective, under the direction of @problak , Atlas traces the evolution of Michael Talbot’s first graphic novel; a story years in the making, pulling back the curtain on process, narrative, and world-building. From early inspiration to ideation and creation, this exhibition invites viewers to go beyond the narrative and step into the process. It’s an opportunity to journey through time alongside the artist, witnessing how a single idea evolved into a fully realized world far beyond the page. Hosted by BLKChip Gallery as part of an ongoing partnership with STC with more to come… See you there!
