Why you should never compare yourself with anyone!!! Oftentimes, we are caught in the web of fantasising over the progress, success, and achievements of other people. We wish that we were them - announcing new jobs, admissions, and scholarships on LinkedIn; posting pictures from trips, conferences, and vacations on Instagram; being vocal on X, winning prestigious awards, getting married, having babies, building houses, and so on. You wish that you were as lucky or “blessed” as them. STOP IT 🛑 Some things that we often fail to recognise are that everyone have their own journeys, that we are all on different paths, and that our success isn’t defined by the achievements of other people. Whoever they are!!! And most of the times, when we are making this comparison, we are busy comparing their strengths with our weaknesses. So, that comparison in itself is already flawed and skewed. One other thing that I have learnt in this social media age that we live in is how, we (willingly or unwillingly) exalt online successes at the expense of our offline struggles. For me, for example, I have had an hectic couple of weeks. Traveling for work amidst delayed flights and stressful experiences, planning a big TINE Africa event in Lagos for next month, struggling to raise funds for a project, and getting numerous last minute disappointments. I have also had to constantly make the tough decision of saying ‘NO’ to several offers, just because they don’t align with my ideals, vision, and values. So, when you see me (or anyone else) succeeding, breaking new barriers, winning new awards, and posting fancy photos in the coming weeks, months, and years, know that is it not just luck or grace, but also a product of a season of hard work, toil, and struggles. Be inspired by other people’s success stories, and be genuinely happy for people when great things happen for them, but do not compare yourself to them. Don’t even aspire to be them, because you don’t know what they are dealing with outside of this World Wide Web. Happy Thursday!!! ❤️ 🦋 🦚 #beyourself #beyou #youareenough #tbt #throwbackthursday #thursday #motivation #africanambassador

A G B Á ‘ S À G A I recently attended the Africa Universitites Summit 2025 in Kigali and there, I got a new name and I love it ❤️. One of the Vice Chancellors, called me “Agbá’sàga” which means the “promoter of culture” or “cultural ambassador”. If know me, you’d know that this is on brand as I never shy away from opportunities to show off the beauty of our culture. In fact, someone once asked me, in New York, if I was a fashion model or stylist. I smiled and replied “No, I’m just Nigerian”. And she simple said “Oh, I see”. Period! 💯 This particular jacket I have on in these pictures is made by @mimis_fashion.ng and it is the combination of àdìre (the local tie & dye) and the àlàárì (a red-hued type of the local handwoven material called the ‘aso òkè’). Just some days before my trip, Aunty @ifyudofia said “Louis, I just got this cloth and it has cowries on it which I know you like”. I said to her “I’ll take it, thank you”. I went straight to her house. I took it! 😂😂😂 Have a lovely weekend, y’all ❤️ #fashion #professional #education #highered #intled #globed #highereducation #university #africa #nigeria #tineafrica #edvantedgeafrica #prinxlouis #africanambassador #theafrica

This is an appreciation post. I want to take this moment to appreciate everyone who has reached out to celebrate and commend the work that we are doing at @tine_africa . Those who have attended and/or supported our events. Our brilliant guest speakers and volunteers. Those who have watched our #podcasts and commented or provided feedback. Thank you! If you know me well, you will know that I am a workaholic and a perfectionist (yes, you guessed right, I'm a virgo ♍️ 😅). So, I am grateful for all my team members at #TINEAfrica and @edvant_edge #africa for their dedication & commitment. For not taking offence when I insist on redoing things, over and over, just because we have to get it right. Thank you! I appreciate my line manager and my colleagues at @sussexuni for always believing in my capacity to deliver excellently despite being a lone-staff in the entire region. Thank you, also, for always verbalising my ingenuity, expertise, and excellence at every possible opportunity. I'm grateful for the opportunities to soar, thrive, and shine. Thank you! I am grateful for organisations like the @ngbritish , @ukinnigeria , @usinnigeria , @cheveningfcdo , etc, for finding me a worthy contributor to their events and programmes. For the invitations, support, and networking opportunities. I'm grateful for my amazing colleagues across the #highereducation #internationaleducation & #development sectors in Africa and around the world. Thank you! I'm grateful for my family members who always have my back and those friends who don't always assume that everything is perfect with me. Those really special humans who check in to confirm that I'm still sanely eating and resting in the midst of my super busy life. I'm grateful for mentors who have pushed me and proteges who look up to me. Thank you! As I reflect on this very busy week that I just survived 🥵 - planning multiple events for #Sussex, attending various online and physical meetings/events, premiering another episode of #TINEAfricaPodcast and planning another round of recordings, attending to several enquiries across various platforms, and more. I'm filled with nothing but GRATITUDE 🙏 💯 Have a wonderful weekend ❤️

A few years ago, conversations around “studying abroad” used to sound distant to many young people around us. For some, it felt impossible. For others, it felt like an opportunity reserved for only the wealthy, connected, or exceptionally lucky. But over time, I have watched ordinary young Nigerians rewrite their stories through the right information, mentorship, access, and courage. I have seen people who once struggled with confidence now studying in countries they only saw on YouTube. I have seen scholarship rejection emails turn into fully funded admissions. I have seen young people leave rooms of confusion and enter rooms of global relevance. And that is exactly why the 7th Edition of Connect & Grow with AY Nigeria matters. This edition is not just another event. It is a room for possibilities. A room where conversations around JAPA, scholarships, international education, and global opportunities will no longer remain abstract dreams but practical discussions with someone who has helped many people navigate that path successfully. Our guest mentor, Prince Louis Omolayo Adekola @prinxlouis is one of the respected voices in international education consulting, and he will be in the room LIVE — not behind a screen, not through a webinar, but physically present to share insights, answer questions, and guide attendees honestly. If you have: • Ever wondered how scholarship applications truly work… • Tried before and failed… • Been confused about the right country, school, or route… • Or simply want clarity on how to position yourself globally… Then you should not miss this session. Connect and Grow with AY Nigeria has always been beyond networking. It is about growth, access, mentorship, and building a generation that is informed enough to compete globally. Attendance is FREE. But registration is compulsory. bit.ly/3GbBpGk And because this is a deliberate mentorship gathering, your application responses must be thoughtful and intentional to be selected. Someone shared an opportunity with you once. This might be your turn to share one with someone else. #ConnectAndGrowWithAYNigeria #Scholarships #Japa #InternationalEducation

It is my last day with the University of Sussex. After 7.5 years of working with @SussexUni , I am now gallantly bowing out of the services of the university. I am indeed very grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the institution's success over the last couple of years. Through my work as the Regional Officer for West Africa, I built a solid brand for the institution and maintained quality relationships with students, alumni, partners, schools, and other stakeholders, while offering valuable insights to the team. As a seasoned professional, I leveraged digital marketing and culturally responsive engagement to improve student recruitment. To summarise the impact of this work, I: - Built a continuously growing community of West African students and alumni at Sussex - Leveraged personal and professional networks and platforms to promote Sussex in the region - Successfully managed a vast network of trusted and highly motivated partners - Created a strong and engaging digital presence for Sussex in the region through @SussexUniWA - Served as the international office's liaison to the School of Education & Social Work - Maintained deep market intelligence and provided useful insights - Advocated for the region and ensured students always got the best support Today, I am leaving this role as a happy and fulfilled man. I joined the university in October 2018 and fell deeply in love. I gave my all, did my best, and recruited some of the most amazing students. While doing my work excellently, I never stopped speaking truth to power, a quality my line manager has commended as "rare but important!" Thank you, Sussex, I love you 💕 #Education #HigherEducation #Africa #ThoughLeader

#YearWrapped - 2025 is very pivotal to me. Not only in terms of my career and the impacts I'm making, but also academically. Hi 👋🏽, I'm Louis Adekola: 🎓 This year makes it 5 years since I completed my second master's degree in International Education & Development (MA) from the University of Sussex 🇬🇧 (P.S. my other master's degree is in Comparative Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Lagos 🇳🇬. 🎓 This year marks my 15th years of graduation from Adekunle Ajasin University 🇳🇬 with a B.Ed. in Educational Management & Accounting. 🎓 This year makes it 20 years since I completed my senior secondary education from CAC Grammar School, Akure 🇳🇬. 🎙️ This year, we launched #TINEAfricaPodcast, released 10 brilliant episodes across 3 streaming platforms - recording over 1,500 subscribers, 35,000+ views, and over 200,000 impressions. 🚀 This year, we welcomed our first cohort of #TINEAfricaFellowship and took 50+ early career professionals within the international education industry in #Africa on a 10-week transformative journey of training, mentorship, and personal/capstone projects. 🏆 This year, we hosted an explosive 3rd edition of TINE Africa Summit & Awards with 300+ attendees from various countries. With brilliant conversations and 20 awards presented. ✨ This year, I hosted an Intergenerational Dialogue with 5 generations of mat weavers, farmers, female entrepreneurs, and youths in Ọgọ̀tún Èkìtì to reinvigorate the production of Ẹní Iran. 💼 This year, I attended several education fairs and worked with 12 Sussex alumni to organise 5 open day events across various cities in West Africa with good success recorded in terms of applications and enrolment numbers. 🫂 This year, I reconnected with old friends, made new ones, built bridges for people across ages & experiences to connect. I held the door open for my colleagues and protégés to walk through and shine forth. 💞 This year, I learnt to love myself better and to continue living my life unapologetically. I made mistakes that paved the way for my successes and I failed forward. I worked out more and "slayed" better. So, puuurrrr, 'shantay I stay!'. 2026, let's goooo! 🔥🔥🔥 #PrinxLouis

What am I really here for??? I have always lived by the mantra that "we have been blessed to be a blessing unto others". Every time I seek knowledge, gather experiences, build networks, make money, and more, I'm always asking myself - 'who else will benefit from this?'. And when I find myself in a new location, a work environment, or a relationship I'm asking myself: 'what am I here for?'. Over the last couple of weeks, I have received so many kind feedback across various platforms about the incredible work that we are doing at The InterNational Education (TINE) Africa through our TINE Africa Fellowship, TINE Africa Podcast, TINE Africa Changemakers Conference, as well as the ground breaking TINE Africa Summit & Awards. What started as a little idea is brilliantly transforming the lives of people and shaping the future of international education in Africa. These heartfelt, inspiring, and encouraging words have done so much more than you all can imagine. Your calls, texts, feedback, advice, posts, comments means so much to us and we are grateful for them. Because these projects drain us in very many ways, seeing these accolades warm our hearts. So, on behalf of the entire @laprinxoconsult and @tine_africa team, I say a big THANK YOU to you for believing in us and for supporting us this year. Thank you to my over 42,000 followers (across the various social media platforms) for being a part of my journey. One lesson 2025 has taught me is that when we believe in ourselves, tap into our potentials and surround ourselves with the right set of people, we can make real magic happen! So, get ready because next year is going to be bigger and better for us. Plus, your boy is becoming a popular influencer in 2026!!! 💯 #Clockit 🤏🏽🤏🏽🤏🏽 As this year comes to an end, remember that within us lies the power to make things happen. We all carry the "Àṣẹ" - our innate ability to create positive change. And the world is waiting for our manifestation as the children of the almighty. As we look ahead to a more fulfilling 2026, let us continue to do more of what makes us special. See you all next year 😉 💯 #prinxlouis #theprinxlouis #tineafrica #newyearseve
