UPCOMING WORKSHOP ALERT ✨ @practice.commonground invites you to explore if IS IT POSSIBLE TO DESIGN OUR HOMES? A workshop on domesticity, lived experience, and the spaces that hold us. We would like to invite you to join a workshop that looks closely at the idea of “home” and the many ways it is shaped, lived in, and imagined. Together, we will explore how domestic spaces are formed—not only through architecture and interior design, but through memories, routines, care, and personal stories. At a time when many people are on the move, when power structures grow harder, and when inequality enters even the smallest corners of daily life, the question of what makes a home feel safe and familiar becomes essential. This workshop opens a space to think about these issues collectively. Through conversation, drawing, and simple participatory exercises, we will reflect on how domestic environments take shape and how designers—and non-designers—can approach them with greater attention and sensitivity. Our goal is not to offer solutions, but to learn from one another and to imagine new ways of thinking about home. The workshop follows the launch of our book They Asked Me to Design a House, I Asked Them to Design a Home at @hyper.hypo.athens on Thursday November 27th. Some of the featured exercises from the book will be part of the session in the form of a participatory performance around the topics: Domesticity is Inherently Tied to Space Sometimes, Domesticity is Also about the Decorative But Don’t Forget about Hospitality! Everyone is welcome—designers, non-designers, people curious about domesticity, or anyone simply wishing to reflect on the spaces they inhabit. When? Saturday, 29th November 2025, 12:00-16:00 Where? ESTO Association, @esto_association Zaimi 24, Exarchia, 10683 The workshop is based on free contribution, but reservation is required via email here: [email protected] @ilalapalma

Still filled with joy and love after the second session of our workshop “Home: a site of resilience”. As a collaboration with the performative project of @inesdominguezdelcorral “Welcome Home”, we brought to the community of @theater_de_vaillant our question: how can we pursue a research method that collects, activates voices and behaviours not spoken? The workshop aims to research, explore and share diverse ways of understanding the domestic environment through personal stories and lived experiences. By gathering these narratives, the workshop encourages designers and participants to collectively develop new principles for rethinking and redesigning domestic spaces. Thanks to all the participants for such an enriching experience. 🌞 @practice.commonground @zwrzin @inesdominguezdelcorral @theater_de_vaillant
