Handcrafted art can conjure many different meanings for different people. One year post shoot. I keep kicking the bucket down the hill, not sharing some delightful updates and accolades on this film. Firstly it will be screening November 7th (my birthday) at @asffestival film festival in York, where I should be hosting a round table talk about the joys of short form filmmaking. Along with just getting an official selection at @londonfashionfilmfestival . Also screening the 20th October and @berlincommercial - where it didn’t win, but still a great honour. I don’t have that much BTS looking through my camera roll. Which is a shame as I know I have 20 minutes of raw footage from a camera rigged to a trash crane. I do have Jed dancing headless.

Amazed at the recognition this film has gotten. I crammed it full of little ideas, handmade effects and styles, and I’m happy to see that resonated with some people.

Music Video of the Week: "Flood" by @corellamusic , Directed by Giles Edward-Nathan @pothw . ⁠ ⁠ Corella drifts into a dreamlike past with Flood. Drawing inspiration from the evocative works of Enzo Sellerio, Michael Ochs, and Diane Arbus, the video stitches together a tapestry of ā€˜50s, ā€˜60s, and ā€˜70s aesthetics and vintage photography. ⁠ ⁠ Framed, quite literally through a painting, the band performs within this nostalgic world, as if trapped in time. As the video progresses, the frame catches fire, its edges consumed in flickering flames. Is it a destruction of the past, or a signal of change? Perhaps both. A moment of breaking free, leaving behind what no longer serves.⁠ ⁠ "Flood" is about embracing change, even when the path ahead feels uncertain. It was incredible to see the Films for the Future @coldplay music video at the @_lightroomldn last month. The immersive 360 video is still playing into March here in London, Manchester and Seoul. šŸŒ™ Not To Scale curated 7 animators from across the globe to create sequences for 11 track segments of A Film For The Future, a visual companion to @Coldplay ’s latest album Moon Music. Shared here is an edit of our contribution to this epic project, featuring ā€˜ALL MY LOVE’. Not To Scale’s output spans techniques including cel 2D, 3D generative AI, digital watercolour over found footage and 8-bit animation. We approached collaborators with a completely open brief from the band and variety in the music samples, and the unlimited creative opportunity was exhilarating. Each artist responded with sublime and original ideas which became beautiful little films. Big love to everyone involved, we couldn’t be prouder of the result.
