✨ Opening Tonight ✨ Spring Dance Concert A timeless legacy meets the next generation of artists as we bring the work of legendary choreographer George Balanchine to the stage. Staged by former New York City Ballet soloist Diana White, this work carries a direct lineage to Balanchine himself. White’s extraordinary career began at a young age, performing in A Midsummer Night’s Dream before joining New York City Ballet, where she worked closely with Balanchine and danced in over 50 of his ballets. Today, through her work with The George Balanchine Trust, she continues to preserve and pass on this iconic repertoire to dancers around the world. ✨ Spring Dance Concert ✨ Celebrating the vibrant artistry of Point Park School of Dance faculty and guest creators. Featuring faculty artist Beverly Bautista Spaulding @beverlyjaneb is a dynamic choreographer, educator, and industry professional whose work bridges concert dance and the commercial world. With over 13 years of experience in Los Angeles, Beverly has worked with major platforms including Disney, Pepsi, the Billboard Music Awards, Lip Sync Battle, iHeartRadio, and Good Morning America. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Dance from Ball State University and an MFA from UC Irvine, and is a co-owner of the Dance Education Equity Association. ✨ Spring Dance Concert ✨ An evening celebrating the dynamic artistry of Point Park School of Dance faculty and distinguished guest artists. Featuring faculty artist Jesse Factor @jessefactor and their work “Temporal Shift: Chrome Rituals” Jesse Factor trained on scholarship at the Martha Graham School and performed with the Martha Graham Dance Company and Graham II in iconic works such as Appalachian Spring and Clytemnestra. Their career spans performances in works by Robert Battle, Jerome Robbins, and more, as well as touring productions of Cats and Cabaret. As a reconstructor for Graham resources, their work has been presented at The Joyce Theater and Jacob’s Pillow. School of Dance Faculty J-Sun Noer @bboyjsun brings a powerful intersection of street dance, scholarship, and lived practice to the stage with his work “Ground Theory II” with musical collaborator @yanpangcomposer and motion graphics by @illustratornate JASON “J-SUN” NOER, Ph.D., is a practitioner of and an active competitor in several Street and Hip Hop Dance forms. He is a member of Battle Catz (MN), West Coast Rockers (CA), and Get Down Gang (PA). His most recent win was 1st place in Breaking at Battlezone XV in Pittsburgh, PA (2025). He is also the artistic director of MIXTAPE, a dance theater collective serving the Twin Cities Hip Hop Dance scene. J-Sun is the former Disciplinary Head of the Hip Hop Dance track at the University of Minnesota (2017-2023) and a current faculty member at Point Park University in the first BFA in Hip Hop Dance program. ✨ Spring Dance Concert ✨ A celebration of artistry, collaboration, and bold creative voices, featuring works by Point Park School of Dance faculty and renowned guest artists. We’re thrilled to feature guest choreographer Jessi Stegall (she/her), @fraulein_stegall , a Chicago-based artist whose work blends poetic inquiry with embodied storytelling. Named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” (2022), Jessi has created for DanceWorks Chicago, NCCAkron, Harvard ArtLab, Springboard Danse and more. Her evening-length work The Theremin Vignettes premiered in 2024 at ICA Boston, and she continues to create nationally, including new works in 2026 for Whim W’Him, Point Park University, and Boykin Dance Project. Sharing the energy from this past weekend ✨ COPA Experience Day at the School of Dance was filled with passion, curiosity, and so much movement. From the moment students stepped into the studios, the space was alive. Dancers dove into classes guided by Crystal Frazier @2bcrystylz and Beverly Bautista @beverlyjaneb , bringing focus, openness, and a fearless approach to learning. Beverly’s choreography and class combinations pushed dancers to explore musicality, texture, and dynamic range and they rose to the challenge beautifully. Beyond the studio, future artists connected with faculty and current students, asked thoughtful questions, and experienced firsthand what it means to train in a vibrant, supportive environment. Tours through our state-of-the-art facilities gave a glimpse into the daily life of a COPA dancer. Grateful for every artist who showed up fully, took risks, and shared their energy with us.
